Job Description & Summary

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL processes to
ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data transformations and loading.

Identify, analyze, and document defects, inconsistencies, and anomalies in ETL processes, working
closely with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Design and implement automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes
and improve efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, developers, and business
analysts, to understand requirements and ensure alignment with testing objectives.

Perform performance testing, scalability testing, and stress testing of ETL processes to assess
system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

Monitor and analyze ETL job execution logs, performance metrics, and error logs to proactively
identify potential issues and optimize system performance.

Document test procedures, results, and findings in clear and concise reports, and communicate
status updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to ETL testing,
and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and
processes.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on ETL testing.
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with ETL testing tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data
warehousing concepts.

• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for test automation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple
priorities simultaneously.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and distributed computing.
• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
