Job Description

The Executive Director of Growth and Performance Marketing will support Sony Pictures Entertainment and Television (SPE/SPT) in Latin America, including Brazil. They will develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy leveraging data-driven insights and innovative approaches. This includes defining growth marketing strategies and tactics for all Sony Pictures properties in the region and managing a team focused on performance campaigns to generate revenue acceleration. The role involves strategic leadership, overseeing performance marketing campaigns, and driving customer acquisition and retention through various digital initiatives. The director is expected to stay current with industry trends and foster collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals and drive transformative change within the consumer marketing strategy for increased ROI and budget efficiency.

Role Summary The Executive Director of Growth and Performance Marketing will support the Sony Pictures Entertainment and Television (SPE/SPT) in Latin America including Brazil.  They will develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy, leveraging data-driven insights and innovative approaches. The Executive Director will define Growth Marketing strategies and tactics for all Sony Pictures properties in the region and will work directly with the CMO and manage a team of growth marketing professionals focused on performance campaigns that will generate revenue acceleration through data-driven strategies and innovation. A successful Executive Director will have a proven track record of scaling products, a deep understanding of growth marketing principles, and strong leadership and communication skills. This person should possess a blend of technical and analytical skills to meet growth objectives. Their responsibilities will include hiring and mentoring a high-performing growth team, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product performance. They need a solid understanding of data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, and Python to extract insights from large datasets. Technical proficiency in areas like A/B testing, web development, content, and marketing automation is essential for implementing growth experiments and measuring their impact. The Executive Director should also be comfortable with data visualization tools to present findings effectively and make data-driven recommendations. They should have a passion for experimentation and continuous improvement, as well as the ability to effectively communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a regional digital marketing growth strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.

  • Lead the digital marketing team across multiple countries in Latin America, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and performance.

  • Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, consumer insights, and emerging trends.

  • Build and lead a high-performing digital marketing team, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities.

  • Foster collaboration within the team and across the broader organization to achieve shared goals.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations, ensuring the team remains agile and competitive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Performance Marketing:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of performance-driven digital campaigns, including SEM, social media, display advertising, and affiliate marketing.

  • Manage and optimize the digital marketing budget to achieve maximum ROI, ensuring efficient allocation across channels and markets.

Customer Acquisition & Retention:
  • Drive customer acquisition strategies through innovative digital initiatives and partnerships.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Content) to enhance the customer journey and improve retention rates.

  • Utilize CRM and marketing automation tools to segment audiences and deliver personalized marketing campaigns.

  • Drive transformative change within the consumer marketing strategy for increased ROI and budget efficiency.

  • Deliver campaign strategy to drive short and long-term growth for our diverse portfolio of products and markets.

  • Be a strong collaborator to drive sustainable growth and change that increases LTV and reduces CAC.

  • Create retention strategies and loyalty programs to keep users engaged, reducing churn and increasing ARPU.

  • Measures of Success: work across all teams to measure performance against KPIs and deliver insights that drive optimization and alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Work together with Product and Brand Content Marketing to influence bold, resonating messaging and content in support of performance campaigns.

  • Manage a data, stats and analysis function: collaborate with DABI (Data Analytic Business Intelligence Team) to drive market, audience, and business model analysis; translate insights into strategy and tactics.

  • This person should possess a knowledge of technical and analytical skills to meet growth objectives. They need a solid understanding of data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, and Python to extract insights from large datasets..SQL: Proficiency in SQL is essential for extracting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from streaming platforms.

  • Data visualization tools: Experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create compelling visualizations of key metrics.

  • Statistical analysis: Understanding of statistical concepts (e.g., correlation, regression) to analyze data trends and make data-driven decisions.

  • Provide strategic input to product road map and programming.

  • Partner Marketing: manage partner marketing initiatives and collaboration with Tier One partners, including Meta, TikTok, Google, Amazon, Samsung, ROKU, FinTech’s, etc.

Job Requirements
  • 10+ years of online and offline consumer marketing experience, including significant experience in performance marketing.

  • Deep knowledge of of omni-channel marketing.

  • Proven track record of driving demand generation and pipeline growth.

  • Passion for movies, television, and the entertainment industry.

  • Expertise in analyzing data, trends, events.

  • Proven ability and flexibility to steer in a market that is changing constantly and rapidly.

  • Experience managing media relationships with publishers, networks, third party vendors, and agencies.

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects.

  • Full Fluency in English and Spanish are required (written/spoken). Portuguese is a plus.

  • Office suite, Ability to create decks and present in person and virtually.
