Job Description

The Experienced Media Sales Account Executive will be responsible for acquiring new business and nurturing existing client relationships to deliver impactful advertising solutions. They will be selling broadcast television and digital advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies. Responsibilities include prospecting, developing, and maintaining new business, managing client relationships, developing and delivering advertising campaigns, and effectively managing a sales funnel. The role requires a results-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must have:
  • Minimum 2 years of sales success.
  • Experience in strategic account management preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Good to have:
  • Understanding of media ratings methodologies such as Comscore and Nielsen.
  • Proficiency with media purchasing platforms like Wide Orbit Sales.

KOAA, a leading Ion Media/NBC station in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking an Experienced Media Sales Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage your expertise in acquiring new business and nurturing existing client relationships to deliver impactful advertising solutions. Your strong background in metrics-driven sales will empower local businesses to reach their audiences effectively and achieve their marketing goals. A DAY IN THE LIFE:

• You will be selling broadcast television and digital advertising solutions. Digital solutions include over-the-top (OTT) video, search strategies (SEO/SEM), social media marketing and more. You will sell to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.

• Independently prospect, develop and maintain new business in the market using the Scripps Sales Process and developing customized solutions.

• Travel to the office or hop on Zoom to host a brainstorm session with your team for an upcoming advertising campaign.

• Attend a regular call with an existing client to talk about campaign performance and ideas for upcoming promotions.

• Use ratings, qualitative and market trend data to negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with advertising agencies to maximize revenue.

• Cultivate new relationships with businesses in the local community by networking, cold calling, and referrals.

• Develop and deliver advertising and marketing campaigns, and media plans.

• Maintain and grow existing accounts by reworking and optimizing schedules and products as needed, showcasing attribution proof of performance, and providing best in class customer service.

• Effectively manage a sales funnel within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and achieve key performance indicators and activity levels.

• Contribute to the creative development of campaigns though client communication and needs analysis, storyboard and concept creation, and assistance in production aspects.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or related field preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years proven sales success.

• Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings and digital execution strongly preferred.

• Ability to multi-task at a high level and meet deadlines under what are sometimes heavy workloads.

• Understanding of media ratings methodologies such as Comscore and Nielsen strongly preferred.

• Ability to negotiate media buys with transactional agencies and compete effectively for market share.

• Proficiency with common media purchasing platforms such as Wide Orbit Sales, ePort, Strata preferred.

• Possess an understanding and passion for digital media marketing, including streaming, targeted display and social media marketing.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00


 

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in Colorado.
