We're looking for an External Development Manager to level up the way we work with external co-development. At Supercell we strongly believe the best teams make the best games. You believe that too and are passionate about sourcing the very best external developers to complement our internal game teams. You will be working closely with teams developing and operating global hit games like Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans and more, as well as exciting new titles that are yet to be announced.

If you have a proven track record of managing successful partnerships and mastery of co-development, we need you to help us define the next chapter in Supercell’s resourcing playbook.

Responsibilities

  • Scout, engage, and integrate external game development partners to meet Supercell's creative and operational needs.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with internal game teams and external partners, facilitating a structured feedback loop for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in and represent Supercell at international industry events, scouting and building a network of potential world-class partners.
  • Champion a culture of co-development where constant learning from external partnerships is encouraged inside Supercell.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in co-development, leveraging insights to keep Supercell's practices innovative and aligned with the industry’s best practices.
  • Optimize partnership processes by developing efficient internal workflows, selecting appropriate project management tools, and streamlining communication and task assignments with external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Supercell’s game teams as well legal, admin and IT teams to ensure success in all aspects of co-development relationships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role in game development, with at least one shipped game title under your belt. You have worked in a game development team, and understand what makes a great team. Mobile and/or free-to-play experience is considered a big plus.
  • Experience working with external co-development studios.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to simultaneously manage 10+ internal team relationships while efficiently handling dozens of open conversations with a large number of established and potential partners.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution, with a focus on creating long-term win-win partnerships.
  • Self-starter with hands-on entrepreneurial attitude and a genuine desire to render first-class service to our internal game teams. You take pride in offering the highest quality options to each request, and managing the process so that it is as easy and as seamless as possible.
  • This role can be based either in Helsinki (Finland) or London (UK). If applying from outside these locations, relocation will be required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to relevant trade shows and partner meetings is required. If based outside of Finland, frequent travel to Supercell’s HQ in Helsinki is also required.
