As a Facilities & Construction Project Manager at Scout Motors, you will be responsible for managing the feasibility, planning, design, and construction of corporate facilities and properties. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements, manage external vendors, and oversee multiple construction projects from start to finish. This includes developing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring all work meets specifications and regulatory requirements. You will also handle project budgets, implement safety protocols, act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, and maintain project documentation. This role involves daily on-site attendance once the location is determined, with potential relocation and travel.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in facilities/construction.
  • Experience planning, designing, building, and maintaining facilities.
Good to have:
  • Experience building facilities in a startup/high-growth environment.
  • Strong financial management discipline including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent computer and systems knowledge, including MS Office suite, CAD, Bluebeam, etc.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Manage feasibility, planning, design, construction management for corporate facilities and properties.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather operational project requirements with an emphasis on workplace experience.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, contractors and consultants for facilities and construction projects.
  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects, from initial planning and design through to completion. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, financial forecasts, and expense tracking. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on all construction sites to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, potential risks, and milestones.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management.
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction. Develop and implement solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role may be based out of our Columbia, South Carolina location to start; however, role will be based at a Scout Motors corporate location (to be determined) in early 2025. The final location will be further discussed and aligned with the successful candidate.  This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
  • The responsibilities of this role will require daily on-site attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly once the on-site location is determined. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Relocation: If the successful candidate is not local to the confirmed corporate location, relocation will be required
  • Travel: Required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities and/or construction project management
  • Experience planning, designing, building, and maintaining large, complex facilities (Tech, manufacturing, labs, industrial)
  • Experience building out new facilities in a startup/high-growth environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve service/efficiency and reduce cost/schedule through strategic design and/or procurement methods
  • Strong financial management discipline including budgeting, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in understanding management agreements, contract language, construction specifications and drawings.
  • Commitment to finding solutions to problems and improving the employee experience
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, succinct manner.
  • Excellent computer and systems knowledge, including MS Office suite, CAD, Bluebeam, etc.
  • A passion for building something new.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $130,000 - $145,000

Internal leveling code: IC8
