Job Description

This role is for a Feature Owner focusing on Cluster Features and Safety UI. The responsibilities include creating technical and commercial solutions for complete product end-to-end, identifying customer needs, developing product roadmaps, tracking project tasks, reviewing solutions, liaising with styling teams, and ensuring maintenance. The candidate will be based in Fremont, California and must be able to attend in-person meetings and travel for events. This position offers a chance to shape the future of transportation and offers competitive compensation and benefits.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Automotive SW Engineering experience
  • Minimum 12-15+ years of product/project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA or similar project tracking systems
Good to have:
  • Experience in platforms, variants, module selection and modification
  • Exposure to Automotive technologies like Android Automotive, AUTOSAR
  • Background in infotainment audio and antenna product development a plus

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Responsible for creating a solution for the complete product end to end – technically and commercially.
  • Identify customer needs in context of the solution.
  • Develop and maintain a product development roadmap to deliver features and functions. Ensure alignment with the overall internal program and supplier milestones.
  • Track project tasks, workflow, priorities, and timing.
  • Review available solutions and propose improvements in technology and/or customer experience.
  • Liaise with the styling and concept teams to create innovative solutions for engineering and in-vehicle user experience.
  • Ensure maintenance and support for the solution over the development, testing and release phases.
  • Circle back to review requirements from an end user perspective

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel required. Passport Required. 

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant degrees such as bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Automotive SW Engineering (especially Digital Cockpit)
  • Minimum 12-15+ years of product/project management experience
  • Experience in platforms, variants, module selection and modification in the automotive industry is desired.
  • Exposure to Automotive technologies in Android Automotive, Vehicle Electronics, AUTOSAR, Telematics, ADAS / AD, Analytics, Cloud / Backend, Validation and Verification is desired.
  • Knowledge of regulatory authorities with jurisdiction over the automobile industry & safety regulations
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, communication, collaboration, innovation, ownership, ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA or similar project tracking systems.
  • Background in infotainment audio and antenna product development a plus.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $220,000.00 - $240,000.00
