The Finance Manager will lead financial operations across the publishing and agency sides of the business. They will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, budgeting and forecasting, optimising cashflow, and maintaining compliance across international operations. This role requires a proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and works closely with the CEO and COO to support strategic financial decision-making across multiple entities and currencies.

Job Details

We are an early stage but well-connected company operating across both games publishing and games marketing agency services. We work internationally, with a network of high-tier studios, partners, and clients. We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Finance Manager who can build strong financial foundations, support operational efficiency, and optimise financial performance across the business.

 

The Finance Manager will lead financial operations across both the publishing and agency sides of the business. They will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, budgeting and forecasting, optimising cashflow, and maintaining compliance across international operations.

 

This is a hands-on role ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with the CEO and COO as a trusted business partner, supporting strategic financial decision-making across multiple entities and currencies. The role involves developing streamlined, efficient processes and playing a key role in driving profitability across our platforms.

 

Type: Part-time, 3-4 days/week

Salary: £45-60,000 pro rata DOE + options scheme participation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and complete financial filings and management accounts for both the publishing and agency businesses, including handling intercompany transactions and cross-entity staffing arrangements

  • Manage company P&Ls, budgets, forecasts, and cashflows

  • Lead the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments

  • Handle domestic and international payroll, including payments to international contractors and freelancers

  • Issue and process global payments and royalty reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international tax and banking requirements

  • Develop and manage cashflow optimisation strategies and support international tax efficiency initiatives

  • Maintain and oversee expense policies and controls

  • Act as a financial partner to leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support commercial decisions

  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors as necessary

  • Support funding initiatives and investor reporting, as applicable

  • Provide accurate and informative Board, Exec and team-appropriate reporting

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, ideally within the games, tech or entertainment sectors

  • Strong working knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Experience handling intercompany transactions and multi-entity operations

  • Familiarity with international payroll, contractor management, and global payments

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines

  • Commercially-minded with an understanding of cashflow management and tax efficiency strategies

  • Proficiency with financial software and tools (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalents)

  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred

HIGHLY BENEFICIAL
  • Prior experience in a start-up or scale-up environment

  • Familiarity with games industry business models (publishing, agency services, IP revenue sharing, etc)

  • Familiarity with international tax matters
