Job Description

As a Finance Manager at OKX, you will be responsible for shaping financial operations in Hungary. This includes overseeing accounting, taxation, internal controls, and regulatory reporting. You will prepare financial statements, coordinate with auditors, streamline financial processes, establish a monthly close process, adapt the cost management system, develop finance policies, and navigate regulatory requirements. You will also assist in setting up the local banking infrastructure and manage day-to-day financial operations. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and attention to detail. This role requires you to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Must have:

ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar
Strong working knowledge of IFRS standards and tax regulations
Self-starting problem solver, able to execute new tasks
Clear and effective communication skills are critical
Understanding of the cost management framework
The skillset to work within a fast-paced startup
Outstanding attention to detail

Good to have:

Experience working across time zones and cross-cultural teams
Previously worked at a crypto exchange
Passionate about blockchain technology and crypto payments

About The Opportunity

Take the lead in shaping our financial operations in Hungary. You'll oversee accounting, taxation, and regulatory reporting while driving automation and efficiency. From managing audits to setting up banking infrastructure, you'll play a key role in building a scalable and compliant financial framework.

What You’ll Be Doing

Oversee and manage areas including accounting, taxation, internal controls, cost management, accounts payable, management reporting, and regulatory reporting.
Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in line with IFRS/GAAP standards.
Coordinate and lead interactions with auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure clear financial reporting and meet statutory audit obligations.
Drive initiatives to streamline financial processes, implement automation, and enhance efficiency in areas such as transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Establish a monthly close process for the local entity and integrate it with the consolidated group close.
Adapt the group’s cost management system for localised needs and requirements.
Develop Finance Policies and any applicable frameworks focused on financial and regulatory reporting.
Act as a functional leader in navigating regulatory requirements with the local authorities.
Keep current with evolving financial reporting standards and tax obligations in Hungary.
Assist in setting up the local banking infrastructure.
Manage the day-to-day financial operations.

What We Look For In You

ACCA (or equivalent) Qualified, Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar
Strong working knowledge of IFRS mandatory; and tax regulations
Self-starting problem solver, able to self-identify and execute new tasks as they emerge, and solve problems proactively to full completion without significant direction
Clear and effective communication skills are critical
Understanding of the cost management framework and how to connect it with a systematic AP process
The skillset to work within the demands of a fast-paced startup environment
Outstanding attention to detail
