Job Description

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing strategic research and analysis. They will also provide financial guidance and assistance to functional teams. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and be able to present financial information to various stakeholders. This role involves supporting month-end close processes, reviewing financial metrics, developing financial models, identifying risks, and suggesting improvements. The position is on-site in Santa Catarina, Mexico.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning/analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite
Good to have:
  • Master's, MBA, or CPA certification
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry
  • Experience at a Big Four accounting firm

The Financial Analyst will assist with financial planning and budgeting, analyze financial statements and reports, develop financial models, prepare projections, and perform other high-impact strategic research and analysis. The Financial Analyst will also work with functional teams to provide financial guidance and assistance.  To be a successful Financial Analyst, you should be able to perform a variety of financial activities, including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You should also have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be able to present financial information and models to the Director of FP&A as well as the leaders from other functions. 

The person in this role will work on-site in our office in Santa Catarina, (Monterrey area), Mexico and report to our Director of FP&A.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support month-end close processes and reconciliations. Assist in the development of monthly and quarterly financial analysis frameworks.
  • Review and analyze financial metrics, statements, and reports; Analyze key business drivers and how they interact with financial results.
  • Work with functional teams on financial guidance and assistance to evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop critical financial projections and models to provide insights and recommendations to support global decision-making.
  • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency and use of accepted accounting procedures, and identify potential risks for fraud.
  • Organize, analyze, and maintain financial records.
  • Suggest ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits.
  • Assess financial operations, identify risks and challenges, and make best-practices recommendations to management.
  • Performing ad-hoc research and analysis as required.
  • All employees are expected to maintain and contribute to the QMS.

Desired Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Master, MBA, or CPA a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling. Experience in the Manufacturing Industry is a plus.
  • Preferred experience at a Big Four accounting firm, demonstrating strong analytical, financial modeling, and audit or advisory capabilities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Experience in NetSuite, Odoo  and data analytical tools a strong plus.
  • Experience in developing written processes and procedures, and training finance and cross-functional team members.
  • Extremely hands-on and detail-oriented.  Willing to jump in wherever needed.
  • Able to grow responsibility with the growth of the region.
  • Analytical and critical-thinking skills. Must be able to critically evaluate data, identify issues in documentation, and suggest solutions. 
  • Communication skills. Must be able to listen to and discuss facts and concerns from clients, managers, and other stakeholders. They must also be able to discuss the results of their work both in meetings and in written reports.
  • Detail-oriented. Must pay attention to detail when compiling and examining documents.
  • Math skills. Must be able to analyze, compare, and interpret facts and figures. They may use advanced math skills, such as calculus and statistical analysis, for these tasks.
  • Organizational skills. Strong organizational skills are important as you will work with a variety of financial documents for various business and customer needs.

Para tener éxito en este rol, deberás ser capaz de realizar una variedad de actividades financieras, incluyendo planificación, análisis, presupuestación e informes. También deberás tener sólidas habilidades analíticas, organizacionales y de resolución de problemas, así como la capacidad de presentar información financiera y modelos tanto al Director de FP&A como a líderes de otras áreas.

Esta posición trabajará de manera presencial en nuestra oficina ubicada en Santa Catarina (área metropolitana de Monterrey), México, y reportará al Director de FP&A.

 

Responsabilidades Principales

  • Apoyar los procesos de cierre de mes y conciliaciones.
  • Ayudar en el desarrollo de marcos de análisis financiero mensual y trimestral.
  • Revisar y analizar métricas, estados y reportes financieros.
  • Analizar los principales impulsores del negocio y cómo se relacionan con los resultados financieros.
  • Colaborar con los equipos funcionales proporcionando orientación financiera para evaluar oportunidades de mejora.
  • Desarrollar proyecciones y modelos financieros clave para brindar recomendaciones que respalden la toma de decisiones globales.
  • Revisar libros contables y sistemas de contabilidad para evaluar su eficiencia y cumplimiento de procedimientos aceptados, e identificar riesgos potenciales de fraude.
  • Organizar, analizar y mantener registros financieros.
  • Sugerir formas de reducir costos, aumentar ingresos y mejorar utilidades.
  • Evaluar operaciones financieras, identificar riesgos y desafíos, y proponer recomendaciones de mejores prácticas a la gerencia.
  • Realizar investigaciones y análisis ad-hoc según sea requerido.
  • Se espera que todos los empleados mantengan y contribuyan al Sistema de Gestión de Calidad (QMS).

 

Requisitos Deseables

  • Título universitario en Finanzas o Contabilidad.
  • Maestría, MBA o certificación CPA es una ventaja.
  • De 3 a 5 años de experiencia en planificación financiera, análisis y modelado financiero. Se valora experiencia en la industria manufacturera.
  • Se prefiere experiencia en alguna de las Cuatro Grandes firmas contables, demostrando sólidas habilidades analíticas, de modelado financiero y de auditoría o consultoría.
  • Pensamiento analítico y habilidades para resolver problemas.
  • Capacidad para presentar información financiera a una audiencia no financiera.
  • Excelentes habilidades de comunicación, presentación e interpersonales.
  • Dominio de Microsoft Office/Google Suite; experiencia con NetSuite, Odoo y herramientas de análisis de datos es una gran ventaja.
  • Experiencia en la creación de procesos y procedimientos escritos, y en capacitación de miembros del equipo financiero y equipos multifuncionales.
  • Extremadamente orientado(a) a los detalles y con actitud práctica. Disposición para apoyar en lo que sea necesario.
  • Capacidad de asumir mayores responsabilidades a medida que crece la región.
  • Habilidades analíticas y pensamiento crítico. Capacidad para evaluar datos, identificar problemas en la documentación y proponer soluciones.
  • Habilidades de comunicación. Capacidad para escuchar y discutir hechos y preocupaciones con clientes, gerentes y otras partes interesadas, y para comunicar resultados tanto en reuniones como en informes escritos.
  • Atención al detalle. Precisión al compilar y examinar documentos.
  • Habilidades matemáticas. Capacidad para analizar, comparar e interpretar hechos y cifras. Puede ser necesario el uso de matemáticas avanzadas, como cálculo o análisis estadístico.
  • Habilidades organizativas. Fuertes habilidades organizativas para trabajar con diversos documentos financieros adaptados a diferentes necesidades de negocio y clientes.
