The Role:
The Financial Analyst, Marketing reports to the Finance Manager, Marketing and is responsible for financial support of the Marketing Team including expense forecasting and management and ROI analysis of Marketing programs. The role supports Congo’s $100M+ guerilla marketing efforts including Social Media, Influencer, Ambassador and In-Market Local and National Events.
- Financial Planning: Partner with Marketing resources to develop budgets by project and marketing activity. Manage and report expenses identifying key risk areas and opportunities.
- Performance Modeling: Collaborate with marketing on the development of KPIs and conduct in-depth ROI analysis for marketing campaigns to measure effectiveness and guide future investment decisions.
- Financial Analysis: Partner with the Marketing team and cost center owners to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly Brand P&L statements, highlighting variances to budget and forecast to inform strategic decision-making.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with business partners to identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to provide insights that drive marketing strategy and spending efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve financial processes related to marketing spend, seeking opportunities to increase automation, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Strategic Support: Support Finance Manager, Marketing with the management and execution of special projects and strategic corporate initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Finance experience preferred (investment banking, financial consulting, corporate finance, FP&A, etc.).
- CPG Industry experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets and present financial data through charts and graphs.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, financial modeling, and financial reporting including GAAP accounting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Oracle NetSuite experience preferred.
