FitXR is a fitness technology company working at the cutting edge of VR and MR, building a movement for movement.

We started life in 2016 in a garden shed in the UK. Today, we’re building FitXR, one of the top-downloaded apps on the Meta Quest store. We’ve raised close to $30m from top investors such as Maveron, Hiro, and BoostVC.

We've built a growing range of fitness studios, from box workouts with world-class trainers like Olympian Nicola Adams to immersive Zumba dance classes. While nothing compares to trying it yourself, you can watch a trailer here.

TLDR

We are looking for a Financial Controller to add to our already incredible team. You will have an unique opportunity to support our rapid growth at the intersection of technology and health.

This high-impact, highly visibility and expansive role is critical in our accounting and reporting processes, and you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team with support from a robust Finance team.

Please note that this is a fully remote position. The CFO is based in US East, but the rest of the Finance team are based in the UK.

Where you’ll spend your time 

• Lead accounting and financial control for the company

• Work with the CFO, Management Accountant, and Strategic Finance to build an impactful Finance team

• Serve as a business partner and provide ongoing support to cross functional teams across Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Operations

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes

• Prepare, maintain, and analyze various reports for external (investors and Board) and internal stakeholders

• Collaborate and manage outside consultants in producing annual UK audits, as well as tax credit filings (VGTR)

• Review existing processes and structures to assist in the identification of improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization and optimization

We’d love to see from you

• 5+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment

• Interest and/or experience at a growing venture-backed startup

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (with Big-4 experience) - an advantage

• Knowledge of UK and US GAAP

• Effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders, including proficiency in Google Slides

• Ability to work autonomously, with an impact-oriented mindset towards work

• Intellectually curious, passion for growth, and appetite for healthy discussions with radical candor

• Capacity to work under pressure and to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment

• Motivated by the opportunity to help the world feel better and more powerful through movement, and shape the future of the next computing platform

• A nice-to-have would be experience with ERP and BI tools and additional automation software

Logistics 🛠

Our interview process takes place on Google Hangouts and tends to consist of the following stages:

• Initial screen with the talent team

• Hiring Manager / technical interview

• Collaborative task stage

• Founder / Exec Interview

Some roles will have extra stages but we’ll let you know as early as possible if so.
