Job Description

The Financial Controller is responsible for reporting financial results, managing the month-end review process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They will analyze variances, participate in business reviews, and oversee the entity's P&L. The role involves managing financial audits, cooperating with tax providers, and ensuring adherence to the internal/external financial control environment. The Financial Controller will also be involved in the sign-off of statutory results and supporting external and internal financial audits. This role involves making sure the business complies with all aspects of the internal/external financial control environment.
Must have:
  • Accounting degree or equivalent qualification (ACA, ACCA).
  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience or post degree.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting, Finance controlling, or Audit Firm.
  • Practical experience with IFRS.
  • Experience of working in a Control / SOX environment.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Team management and leadership skills.
  • Fluent English (minimum C1).
Good to have:
  • Experience of working in a Control / SOX environment.
  • Previous experience of SAP preferred.
  • Developed analytical skills.
  • Outside of the box thinking and problem-solving skills.

Finance Controller

Role Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the reporting of financial results for an entity or cluster of smaller entities, with commentary including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow for its accuracy and completeness.

  • Manage delivery of a complete, accurate and timely set of IFRS reporting (corporate reporting) for an entity or cluster of smaller entities.

  • Manage all aspects of the financial month end review process, reporting requirements, facilitating month end meetings, maintaining risk register & coordinating with all external stakeholders.

  • Drive variance analysis for P&L (e.g. Operating expenses, Margins and Profitability etc.) and Balance Sheet, review financial information against historical run rates and future growth plans.

  • Participate & contribute into business reviews meetings as appropriate

  • Own the Entity P&L including write off / back decisions

  • Ensure entities' results are fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice and any other regulations

  • Ensure business complies with all aspects of the internal / external financial control environment

  • Sign-off of statutory results with Finance Director.

  • Support and is responsible for the inputs to the external and internal financial audits

  • Cooperate with our tax providers – review of declarations for VAT, CIT, other taxes.
