Job Description

At Skillz, we’re redefining the world of mobile gaming, and we are looking for a strategic, data-driven FP&A Manager to help fuel our growth. Reporting to our Head of FP&A, Will Cheung, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and driving key business decisions that impact our platform and products.

Your expertise in financial modeling, cost analysis, and strategic planning will empower stakeholders across the company, ensuring that every financial decision moves us toward future success. You’ll own your business units, build and refine financial models, and collaborate with key teams to drive product and platform advancements in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Own Financial Strategy: Develop and maintain financial models to drive key decisions across the business.
• Analyze & Optimize Costs: Leverage advanced cost accounting methods (e.g., activity-based costing, standard costing, variance analysis) to improve profitability.
• Lead FP&A Functions: Establish and refine budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and cost modeling processes to support scalable growth.
• Drive Business Insights: Provide operational metrics, scorecards, and strategic recommendations that shape the future of Skillz.
• Collaborate & Influence: Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights that drive performance.
• Innovate & Improve Processes: Implement and optimize financial processes in a high-growth, fast-evolving environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in financial management and operations at a fast-growing company (B2C online business experience preferred).
• Expertise in cost accounting, including activity-based costing, unit costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience designing and maintaining cost study frameworks and integrating them with financial models.
• Proven success in running and optimizing cost modeling systems, supporting standard and forecast unit costs, and analyzing operational metrics.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills for budgeting and forecasting, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to present complex financial data in a clear, actionable format to diverse stakeholders.
• A strategic thinker who can balance high-level business goals with deep-dive financial analysis.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels of an organization.
• Passion for process improvement and scaling financial operations in a dynamic environment.

Starting Total Compensation: 170,000 (Base + Bonus + Equity)
