About the job:
As a Full Chip CAD Physical Design Verification Engineer at Google, you will be part of a team responsible for developing custom silicon solutions for Google's consumer products. You will be involved in implementing large, complex system-on-chips (SoCs), subsystems, and sub-wrappers, ensuring their functionality and performance. You will work with Cadence and Synopsis tools to perform floorplanning, power grid design, place-and-route, and other design verification tasks. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the next generation of hardware experiences that deliver unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. You will be responsible for demonstrating an understanding of the RTL-to-GDSII flow, advanced node design, and optimization techniques. Strong scripting skills in Synopsis TCL and Python are also essential.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and RTL2GDS flows
  • Experience in the semiconductor/EDA industry
  • Understanding of Register-Transfer Level (RTL)-to-Graphic Data Stream (GDS)II flow
  • Experience with Cadence design tools
  • Experience in implementing SoCs, subsystems, and sub-wrappers
  • Expertise in floorplanning, power grid design, and place-and-route methodologies
  • Knowledge of Synopsis tools like Floorplan Compiler (FC) and formality
  • Understanding of advanced node design (e.g., 5nm and below)
  • Expertise in optimization techniques for advanced nodes
  • Scripting skills in Synopsis TCL
  • Expertise in Python
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/EE
  • Experience related to silicon quality or reliability

Minimum qualifications:
