Job Description

The Nine Publishing Technology team is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver market-leading digital products such as smh.com.au, theage.com.au and afr.com.au. This role involves creating high-quality, scalable, and high-performing solutions, aligning with business and technology goals. The engineer will collaborate with technology leaders and senior engineers to ensure consistent practices across the team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining premium digital products across various platforms and systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth. This role requires developing and maintaining technical documentation as well.
Must have:
  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or experience.
  • Experience with programming languages like Golang, Python, Ruby, Node.js.
  • Experience in React JS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in building and integrating REST APIs.
  • Previous experience in web/software design and development.
  • Experience in OO Programming Language such as Java/C++.
Good to have:
  • Experience in designing and architecting high availability solutions.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Experience in cloud platforms, containers, and continuous delivery.
  • Understand the value and importance of well tested code

Job Description

The Nine Publishing Technology team continually delivers and maintains premium, market leading digital products, including: smh.com.au, theage.com.au and afr.com.au across multiple platforms and systems. 

Software Engineers are responsible for the design, development, and delivery of products and services that delight our customers, and grow the business. 

You will be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable and high performing solutions that align to business and technology goals. You will be working with technology leaders and other senior engineers to ensure consistency of our practices and processes across the Publishing Technology team.

Qualifications

What we would like to see on your resume: 

  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • Experience with several general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Golang, Python, Ruby, Node.js
  • Experience in React JS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience in building and integrating high performance REST APIs. . 
  • Previous experience in web/software design and development. 
  • Experience in OO Programming Language such as Java/C++.

Desired skills 

  • Experience in designing and architecting high availability solutions.
