As an AI Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI systems in Unreal Engine, focusing on combat behaviors, coordination of groups, and NPCs. You will collaborate with engineers, animators, and gameplay designers to bring challenging and scalable combat encounters to life. You will prototype behaviors, debug AI issues, and help build systemic combat logic. You will also contribute to the development of design workflows and best practices for combat AI. The role involves ensuring AI systems are functional, impactful, and well-documented. You'll debug and resolve AI issues with a rigorous approach and stay updated with industry AI innovations.
Must have:
  • 6+ years of game design experience, with a focus on AI or combat systems.
  • Advanced experience with Unreal Engine, especially behavior trees and Blueprints.
  • Strong technical foundation: scripting and debugging.

Nous recherchons un(e) AI Designer expérimenté(e), impliqué(e) et doté(e) d’un bon esprit technique pour rejoindre notre équipe dynamique. À ce poste, vous serez directement responsable de la conception et de l’implémentation des systèmes d’IA dans Unreal Engine. Vous collaborerez étroitement avec les ingénieurs, animateurs et designers gameplay pour donner vie à des combats exigeants, lisibles et évolutifs.

Nous recrutons quelqu’un qui se sent à l’aise avec Unreal engine, capable de prototyper des comportements, de déboguer méthodiquement les problématiques IA et d’aider à construire une logique de combat systémique à partir de zéro.

Ce que vous ferez:

  • Concevoir et implémenter des systèmes d’IA dans Unreal Engine (arbres de comportement, blackboards, Blueprints), en se concentrant sur les comportements de combat, la coordination de groupes, les PNJ, etc.
  • Collaborer avec les équipes d’animation et d’ingénierie pour garantir que les comportements des ennemis soient fun, clairs et techniquement robustes.
  • Contribuer avec les équipes de design 3C et Combat Joueur à la définition et la livraison d’une expérience joueur cohérente.
  • Prototyper activement et itérer sur les designs IA : implémenter les comportements dans l’engine, les tester dans leur contexte, et produire une documentation de design claire et évolutive à destination des programmeurs.
  • S’assurer que les systèmes d’IA sont non seulement fonctionnels et impactants en jeu, mais aussi bien documentés.
  • Déboguer et résoudre les problématiques IA avec une approche rigoureuse et soucieuse des performances.
  • Participer au développement des workflows de design et des meilleures pratiques pour l’IA de combat.
  • Se tenir informé(e) des innovations IA dans l’industrie et appliquer les techniques pertinentes au projet.

Ce que vous apportez:

  • Diplôme de niveau bac en game design, informatique ou expérience équivalente.
  • Plus de 6 ans d’expérience en game design, avec une spécialisation IA, systèmes de combat ou gameplay systémique (de préférence dans des RPG ou des jeux d’action-aventure).
  • Maîtrise avancée d’Unreal Engine, particulièrement des behaviour trees, EQS, blackboards et Blueprints.
  • Solide bagage technique : scripting (Blueprints, C++ ou C#), débogage et approche systémique du design.
  • À l’aise pour travailler directement dans l’engine et collaborer avec les ingénieurs à la mise en place de systèmes de jeu robustes.
  • Esprit structuré et analytique, passion pour la création d’IA intelligente et réactive.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on and technically-minded AI Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be directly responsible for designing and implementing AI systems in Unreal Engine. You’ll work closely with engineers, animators, and gameplay designers to bring challenging, readable, and scalable combat encounters to life.

We’re seeking someone who thrives in the engine, who can prototype behaviors, debug AI issues methodically, and help build systemic combat logic from the ground up. If you're excited about solving complex design problems, iterating in real time, and shaping meaningful enemy interactions in a large-scale fantasy world—this is the role for you.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AI systems in Unreal Engine (behavior trees, blackboards, Blueprints) with a focus on combat behaviors, group coordination, NPCs, etc.
  • Collaborate with animation, and engineering teams to ensure enemy behaviors are fun, clear, and technically sound.
  • Contribute alongside the 3C and Player Combat design teams to define and deliver a cohesive player experience.
  • Actively prototype and iterate on AI designs: implement behaviors in-engine, test them in context, and produce clear, scalable design documentation for programmers.
  • Ensure AI systems are not only functional and impactful in-game, but also well-documented.
  • Debug and resolve AI issues with a rigorous, performance-conscious approach.
  • Contribute to the development of design workflows and best practices for combat AI.
  • Stay up to date with AI innovations in the industry and apply relevant techniques to the project.

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in game design, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in game design, with a focus on AI, combat systems, or systemic gameplay (preferably in RPGs or action-adventure titles).
  • Advanced experience with Unreal Engine, particularly with behavior trees, EQS, blackboards, and Blueprints.
  • Strong technical foundation: scripting (Blueprints, C++, or C#), debugging, and systemic design thinking.
  • Comfortable working directly in-engine and collaborating with engineers to ship robust gameplay systems.
  • Structured, analytical mindset with a passion for creating intelligent, reactive AI.
