Job Description

As a Game Developer at Kano, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evolving nostalgic clicker-based role-playing games. Responsibilities include collaborating with the development team on game features, maintaining game logic, ensuring code quality, defining technical requirements, optimizing game performance, working with the design team, and staying updated with industry trends. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of full-stack experience with at least one live title, proficiency in C#, understanding of object-oriented design, and experience with game-as-a-service operations. You will be working with a remote-first company that values player experience, teamwork, and transparency, with an opportunity to work on games enjoyed by millions.

The Opportunity: 
 
We are looking for a passionate Game Developer to join our Idle games team, where your dedication, keen eye for detail, and knowledge of software design principles can shine. As a Game Developer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, enhancing, and evolving our nostalgic clicker-based role-playing games collection. 
 
What you will be responsible for:
 
  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement game features and mechanics.
  • Develop and maintain game logic, systems, and functionalities.
  • Ensure high-quality code through code reviews, testing, and debugging.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and project milestones.
  • Optimize game performance for various platforms and devices.
  • Work closely with the design team to bring their ideas to life in the game.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to improve game development processes.
 
Your background should look something like:
 
  • Minimum 3 years of full-stack experience, with at least 1 live title
  • Strong proficiency in C#, including familiarity with game development frameworks and engines (e.g., Unity) where C# is the primary language.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • understanding of the tools and processes involved in operating a game-as-a-service
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • A passion for game development with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Salary Range:

  • $82,000 - $102,000 / year

 

Kano is a remote-first workplace with an in-person attendance requirement 2-6 times a year.
