We are looking for a talented individual to join our innovative Math & Game Analytics team at NetEnt. This individual will work primarily as a Game Mathematician for online slot games for the NetEnt brand, helping turn novel game concepts into java prototypes with the support of a talented team of developers and designers. The secondary function of this role is to help build our team’s game analytics capabilities with the use of data technologies such as SQL, R and/or Python. The perfect candidate would see themselves as a Game Designer rather than a traditional mathematician, marrying the primary and secondary responsibilities of the role by using data to inform the decision-making processes in game design.  
 
Responsibilities: 

• Learn new technologies and develop your skills while helping us achieve our goal of providing the best games on the market. 
• Work closely together with our Game Mathematicians, Game Teams and our core development teams to build games and create, improve, and maintain our tools and algorithms. 
• Develop, optimize and maintain our tools for prototyping, simulating and solving games. 
• Implement algorithms for solving statistical and combinatorial problems. 
• Implement game logic. 
• Investigate techniques, such as various optimization methods, to solve old challenges in new ways. 

Who are you?  
 
We're looking for a team player with an innovative personality with a passion to learn new things. You hold a natural talent for understanding and solving abstract and complex problems and have a good eye for detail. It is important that you have an interest in understanding how different math models relate to and translate into player behavior and what appeals to the end user. We think you should have an interest in games from a mathematical and player perspective.     

Skills & Experience:   

• University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent 
• Extensive, hands-on experience with Java technologies. 
• Data analytics experience using SQL, R and/or Python to query data and derive insights.  
• Strong mathematical intuition. 
• Good understanding of programming paradigms - such as OOP and functional programming. 
• Fluent in spoken and written English 
• Team player with an innovative personality 
• Talent for understanding and solving abstract and complex problems 
• Detail-oriented
