Job Description

Riot Games seeks a Game Producer for VALORANT in Sydney, Australia. The role involves leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative features and experiences. Responsibilities include organizing and delivering team feature work, managing daily production operations, facilitating team meetings and decisions, removing roadblocks, tracking progress, and communicating with stakeholders. The producer will build and maintain stakeholder relationships, ensure work meets quality standards and project goals, align team efforts with product vision, and track team capacity and velocity. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years' experience as a producer or project manager with proven leadership skills in Agile development processes and a deep understanding of player needs. They must be adept at communication, problem-solving and fostering team success.

Job Details

Production at Riot Games helps lead passionate cross-functional teams to create innovative products and experiences that seek to deliver maximum player value. By encouraging collaboration, you’ll drive development, smashing through obstacles and driving products into players’ hands. You’ll exceed expectations by helping concept, deliver, improve, and influence creative projects at every stage of production.

As a Producer within Riot, you will report to the Lead Producer, and work with internal and external developers to lead production efforts in bringing our products to market. You will build relationships with developers across teams at Riot. You will ensure that the team is set up for success at every stage of project development from: prototype and pre-production to launch and beyond as a key member of the development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the organization and delivery of team’s feature work
    • Run day-to-day team production operations
      • Create and maintain a clean, up-to-date work backlog
      • Facilitate team meetings, discussions, and decisions
      • Support team by removing roadblocks and managing distractions
      • Direct all team rituals
    • Team has predictable and measurable capacity for work through
      • Cross-functional work planning with accurate estimations
      • Velocity tracking on sprint and release basis
      • Sprint/milestone commitment tracking
      • Dependency/risk tracking
      • Quality tracking
    • Track and communicate progress to stakeholders and rest of team
      • Track ALL work (planned, unplanned, emergent)
      • Direct all progress communication
      • Establish, develop, and maintain stakeholder relationships, keeping them informed of progress and looped in to key decision making
    • End-to-end feature delivery tracking
      • Define and ensure work meets definition of done
      • Update and track against common delivery checklist for shipping
    • Ensure team's work matches overall project priorities and goals
      • Strategic work alignment & prioritization
        • Act as liaison between your team, partner teams and stakeholders
        • Align team, and be able to articulate how outputs ladder up to strategy and product vision as prioritized by project leadership
        • Create and maintain the team product roadmap
        • Create and prioritize team backlog with the Area Leads.
        • Able to communicate and get stakeholder buy-in on the “why” behind the team’s work
      • Player resonance
        • Provide critical product feedback and insights to the team and leadership
        • Be the advocate for team’s game and business decisions
        • Champion a player-focused mindset and be the voice of the player
        • Actively review and engage with players via popular channels (forums, events, etc). Deeply understand the pulse of our players.
        • Responsible for communicating team staffing needs
          • Knowledgeable of team workflows to inform staffing needs, estimates, and risks
          • Responsible for understanding total required scope for team’s efforts
          • Work with Area Leads to meet staffing needs
        • Ensures strong team health, culture, and efficiency
          • Team work systems are efficient and adopted by everyone on the team
          • Monitors team morale, ensures the team has a safe and supportive environment where they can succeed
          • Celebrates successes, makes sure team-building happens regularly
          • Resolves team problems quickly

      Required Qualifications:

              • 4+ years of experience as a Producer or Project Manager
              • Ample experience working with cross-functional and distributed teams
              • Strong stakeholder management skills
              • Experience leading teams through all feature development phases (planning, execution, delivery, post-release support)
              • Experience applying Agile and Lean development processes such as Scrum or Kanban

      Desired Qualifications:

              • Preferably you have video game industry experience, ideally working on competitive AAA games. A background in digital project management/Agile project management/Scrum Master in a technology setting will also be considered
              • Experience working with teams building engine capabilities or gameplay features
              • Mastery of production tools like Jira to track development and create accurate reporting
