Job Description

GamePoint is seeking a Game Server Engineer (Java) to develop and support the back-end of their social games. Responsibilities include implementing software components, troubleshooting, participating in project estimations, collaborating with teammates, communicating with the Product Owner, and providing technical input into product roadmaps. The technology stack involves Java8+, NIO, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, GIT, and Gradle. The ideal candidate possesses strong Java Core knowledge, multi-threading skills, understanding of sockets and Java NIO, familiarity with concurrent collections and streams, SQL and Redis experience, and proficiency in Git. Good English is essential. Bonus skills include RabbitMQ, unit/integration testing, C#, and JS.

Position Summary - Game Server Engineer (Java)

Developing and supporting the back-end part of our successful social games project. The project has the following technology stack: Java8+, NIO, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, GIT, and Gradle.
The project is in production and needs an enthusiastic Java developer to develop it further

Responsibilities:

Implement software components according to the design specifications
Perform problem troubleshooting and resolution
Participate in estimating project efforts and delivery timelines
Proactively collaborate with teammates and communicate with the Product Owner to ensure that the project efforts proceed efficiently and with predictability
Provide technical input into product roadmaps - transform design spec into tech req

Who you are:

Java Core knowledge
Multi-threading
Sockets — Java NIO - not deep
Concurrent Collections, Streams - Multi-threading no deep
SQL, Redis JDBC
Version Control System (GIT)
Good English proficiency
Responsible, open-minded, good team player

Bonus skills:

RabbitMQ
Unit and integration testing
C#, JS
