Job Description:
As a data specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of data handling tasks to ensure the accuracy, availability, and usability of data across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, cleanse, optimize, organize, and transform data into standard formats that meet the needs of our systems and team members.
Experience / qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in data wrangling or a similar discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, encompassing functions, data queries, and pivot tables.
- Exceptional analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) and a working knowledge of various ETL (extract, transform and load) tools and techniques.
- Capability to operate both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of VBA and Python for data manipulation.
- Prior experience in the accountancy/finance domain would be an added advantage.
Key responsibilities:
- Utilize data wrangling techniques to clean and prepare data for analysis.
- Gather data from multiple sources and ensure its quality and integrity.
- Optimize and organize data to enhance data retrieval and processing.
- Transform data into required formats for various business applications.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Utilize ETL tools and techniques to work efficiently with large datasets.
- Employ advanced Microsoft Excel functions, data queries, and pivot tables to analyze data.
- Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Document data wrangling procedures and contribute to the development of best practices.
