Company Description
Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist (e.g., for sleep apnea), your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, “They’ll be in touch soon.” So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often specialists and medical services are overwhelmed with referrals and the painstakingly manual process it takes to qualify your referral prevents them from getting around to it on time, or sometimes at all. Tennr prevents these delays and denials by making sure every referral gets where it needs to go, with the right info, at the right time. Powered by RaeLM™ Tennr reads, extracts, and acts on every piece of patient information so providers can capture more referrals, slash denials, and reduce delays.
Role Description
Tennr is hiring a General Counsel to build and lead our in-house legal function. You’ll be the go-to advisor for everything from enterprise contracting and product risk to regulatory compliance and corporate governance. This is a high-trust, high-impact role that will work across the executive team and partner closely with Sales, Product, Finance, Security, and People teams to ensure we’re making fast, informed decisions with the right legal guardrails in place.
You’ll bring a builder’s mindset—designing processes that scale, negotiating deals with clarity and speed, and proactively managing risk across a regulated, enterprise-facing business. You should be comfortable owning both strategic legal decisions and tactical day-to-day work as we continue to scale in an evolving AI, data privacy, and regulatory landscape.

Advise on regulatory compliance with healthcare laws (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid and CMS Rules, HIPAA, state-specific payer regulations, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and relevant state law) and commercial frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, federal and state data privacy).
Own legal risk assessment and mitigation processes across product development, marketing, security, and operations.
Oversee corporate governance, including board support, equity matters, and cap table oversight in partnership with Finance.
