The Opportunity

Our team is seeking a new member who can expand IGN's game strategy guides by creating coverage of popular and trending games in short, helpful formats. IGN’s editorial team is made up of all kinds of people that share a common love of games, TV, movies, comics, tech, and all things geeky. Key Responsibilities   
  • You’ll collaborate with a team to create detailed “How Tos” and other short-form guides that distill our large strategy guides into digestible, shareable pieces.   
  • You'll play and capture games of all sorts to be an expert in the most popular games of the moment.    
  • You’ll work closely with editors and freelancers to elevate their work by interpreting player needs and edit our guides to reflect those needs.   
  • You’ll promote game help content on IGN’s many platforms (IGN.com, YouTube, Snapchat etc.) with smart headlines and unique angles.   
  • You’ll track trends and work with our core SEO team on coverage angles and create daily (and long term) content plans around them.   
  •  Side quests include participating in the creation of all IGN content, including reviews, news, previews, and appearances on shows and podcasts.   

Job Qualifications

  • You have published video game strategy guide work.   
  • You have experience working SEO terms and phrases naturally into your work so it reads well for humans (and one very particular robot).   
  • You have experience editing others’ work for clarity and optimization in accordance with a style guide.     
  • You have experience using tools that track trending terms.

*Note: Disclosure as required by NYCHRL, the base salary range for this role when being performed in the City of New York is $70,000-$85,000.  Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
