Job Description

The Hand Load Operator II is responsible for setting up and operating a hand load assembly line for ADTRAN's products. Duties include assembling components based on instructions, ensuring correct placement, performing tests, routing boards, reading BOMs, and inspecting products to meet quality standards. This involves adherence to quality standards and following instructions. The role requires regular attendance and performing additional duties to ensure quality and accuracy.
Must have:
  • Assemble components based on diagrams and instructions
  • Ensure accurate placement of components
  • Read and interpret Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5 years related experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required
  • BaaN ERP software experience required

Job Summary

The Hand Load Operator II will be responsible for setting up and operating a hand load assembly line used for production of ADTRAN’s products. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assemble hand-loaded components on boards based on diagram, photo, and written instructions found in Fusion. 
  • Ensure the correct placement and accuracy of hand-loaded components. 
  • Perform tests on boards to ensure functional operation.
  • Route functional boards to Mechanical assembly area and, route non-functional boards to Repair Operator area.
  • Read and interpret Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Check and inspect products to ensure Q50 and IPC-A-610 quality standards are met. 
  • Work on “semi-routine” assignments and recognize/indicate where any deviation from accepted practices is required.
  • Adhere to general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments.
  • Prompt and regular attendance is required in order to ensure quality workflow.
  • Other duties as requested in order to ensure 100% quality, accuracy, and product verification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience.  Prior manufacturing environment experience preferred. 
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
  • BaaN Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience required.
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack on daily basis required.
  • No travel is expected for this position.
