Microsoft Azure is seeking Hardware Verification Engineers to contribute to the development of next-generation networking devices. Responsibilities include defining and implementing design verification environments, implementing coverage metrics, writing test cases, executing test plans, conducting automated testing, identifying feature flaws, validating features through prototyping, providing project schedule input, choosing parts, evaluating materials, identifying project risks, communicating team progress, creating detailed reports, developing training materials, and documenting complex details. The ideal candidate possesses experience with verification of hardware accelerators using System Verilog and UVM, along with a strong background in micro-architecture, logic design, and/or ASIC/FPGA verification.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with verification of hardware accelerators with System Verilog and UVM
  • Extended experience in micro-architecture, logic design and/or verification of ASIC/FPGA designs.
  • Ability to crisply articulate end goals and trade-off when faced with an engineering challenge that is not well defined.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Define and Implement Design Verification Environments.
  • Implement coverage metrics.
  • You will document appropriate test requirements and review testing plans to determine the suitability of current test equipment. You’ll also write design verification test cases, and develop and execute moderately complex test plans.
  • You will conduct automated testing on moderately complex products and create testing dashboards. You’ll identify complex feature flaws using data analysis and validate features by building prototypes.
  • You’ll provide input on a project schedule as you deliver the hardware engineering aspects of a moderately complex feature or product. You’ll also choose available parts and evaluate complex details of materials used in production.
  • You will identify common project risks, communicate team progress, and create detailed reports for products and features. You’ll also develop and deliver training, as well as document complex details.
