About the Vibe Team
As part of the People SuperGroup, the Vibe team’s mission is to 'Create Environments that cultivates Canva's culture and inspires us all to do the best work of our lives'. This includes everything from planning future spaces, keeping our existing space functioning efficiently, producing engaging activations and events, to preparing healthy meals. The Vibe team plays a key role in creating and maintaining the type of workplace that we all love, where every single person has opportunities to grow and develop their skills and is able to do their best work and make an impact, every day.
As Canva grows, The Vibe Team is scaling its operations to adapt to the ever-changing needs and complexities of the company, to take on new responsibilities and to contribute in strategic and meaningful ways. Currently, the Vibe team oversees several functions including Workplace Experience, Facilities and Construction (Space Creation), Food and Beverage (Hospo X), Health and Wellbeing programming, Events and Engagement.
About the Role

The Hospitality Experience Team Mission is to Create a world famous food program & hospitality experience that reflects Canva's values and reinforces a sense of belonging for our community.
We do this through the Communal Table and Food for Change. These are the foundational pillars of the food program and we are continuously growing these concepts and philosophies through bringing people together with food and drink .
As we grow we have to keep evolving the we cook and serve food, our drinks offerings, our menu creations and the way we think about food culturally has to grow and evolve too .
You will have the freedom to express yourself through your skills as a Chef, empowering you to be creative by curating an environment for your growth and development . Canva is driven by core values and the kitchen is too! We think sustainably when sourcing food, we support the community through volunteering programs, and pride ourselves on creating diverse cuisines and cultural experiences . We are always flexible and willing to change if it's for the betterment of the team and overall experience we provide.
You will have the opportunity to make your mark , bring your flavor to the table and share with the team!
The kitchen IS small with you being the one chef to be hands on running the operations with a casual kitchen assist to help the day to day . The role will be very dynamic and versatile as you will where many hats . We will be feeding between 50-100 people per day with simple buffet style continental breakfast and lunch five days per week. You will be the point of contact and local hospitality expert to build the program from the ground up.

What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with relevant experience many different styles of catering, cuisines and cooking techniques, relevant qualifications for this role, 5 + years relevant experience in the role as well as relevant food safety certification. Someone with experience in restaurant or cafe ownership and doing many hats at the same time
Someone with a deep understanding of of all dietary requirements, creative in all aspects of menu planning and open minded and adaptable to constant change.
We need someone that is self motivated and happy working autonomously and in a team, maintain high levels of attention to detail, organization skills, punctuality and communication skills showing an approachable and attitude of continued betterment. Excited by new and ever changing initiatives as we grow
Because of the rate of great growth you must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, possess excellent communication, verbal, written and interpersonal skills coupled with strong problem solving skills and be adaptable to constant change and embrace new ideas and processes as we move forward
Someone that has a good team attitude and will assist other Vibe team members achieve their role when necessary or as required. We really would love for our team to embrace the company mission and values as well as our teams mission and contribute to building the best Food Program in the world
Preferable but not essential experience with Zoom, Slack and some relevant computer skills on Mac OS as these are the tools we use at Canva (plus our own product of course!).
