We're looking for a talented and experienced Head of CG to join our team.


Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Head of Production.
  • Responsible for keeping production values according to visual development and quality control across all production work, including tests, new development, pilots, long-form productions and marketing assets.
  • Collaborate with leaders to execute the visual style of the series, optimizing asset potential within production constraints.
  • Ensure the creative vision is consistently maintained through Modeling, Surfacing, Animation, Rigging, Lighting, and Compositing.
  • Manage and inspire the CG team, overseeing their output and ensuring high quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate on performance reviews, succession planning, and talent allocation to meet creative goals.
  • Work with the Head of Production and VP of Technology to plan technology, talent, and creative strategies for long-term success.
  • Develop and propose strategies for pipeline, technology and workflow improvements, including new software and hardware.
  • Aid in decisions on studio-wide software infrastructure and pipeline development, in collaboration with the VP of Technology.


Requirements

  • Solid understanding of the 3D animation pipeline
  • Possess strong technical and leadership capabilities, with the ability to train a team of CG artists.
  • Ability to balance creative vision with technical and budgetary constraints.
  • Critical eye for detail and the ability to communicate visual aspects to the team.
  • Able to lead a team of CG supervisors and inspire them to do their best work and achieve team deliverables.
  • Knowledge of CG software: be adept at using relevant programs such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and Redshift
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Self motivated
