HEAD OF CONTENT & EDITORIAL

The primary objective of this role is to oversee and manage the content and editorial needs for a key client. Leveraging your extensive social and content experience, you will drive the generation of creative content and editorial ideas, aligning with the overall strategy to meet objectives. Working closely with the client and the internal teams to deliver world-class creative in the gaming sector. This role is crucial in shaping the brand's voice and presence in the gaming community, requiring a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of the gaming industry and its audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the brand's overall objectives, targeting key demographics.

  • Storytelling and Narrative: Develop compelling narratives that resonate with the gaming community and support brand campaigns, product launches, and events.

  • Innovative Content Ideas: Continuously explore and implement new content formats, trends, and technologies (e.g., AR/VR, memes, interactive content) that engage the gaming community.

  • Brand Voice: Ensure that the brand voice is consistently maintained across all content, reflecting the brand's personality and values.

  • Channel Optimization: Optimise for content distribution and tailor strategies accordingly, and jump on trends!

  • Content Calendar Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of a content calendar, ensuring a consistent and timely flow of posts across all channels.

  • Quality Control: Ensure all content meets brand standards, including tone, style, and messaging consistency.

  • Team Management: Lead a team of producers writers, content creators, and social media managers, community managers, providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the clients, marketing, product development, PR, departments to align content efforts with broader business goals.

  • Agency and Partner Management: Coordinate with external agencies or partners for content production, influencer partnerships, and other collaborative initiatives.

  • Campaign Execution: Plan and execute social media campaigns, including promotions, contests, and live-streamed events.

  • Influencer Partnerships: Work with Influncer agency to identify and collaborate with gaming influencers to amplify content reach and brand presence.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze content performance metrics (e.g., engagement rates, click-through rates, follower growth) across all channels to assess the effectiveness of strategies.

  • Reporting: Working with the social media managers and account manager teams. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and future opportunities.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use data to inform content creation, optimizing based on what resonates most with the audience.

  • Paid Media: Supported by the social media manager and our paid media specialists ensure content is effectively reaching our audiences through Paid media.

  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in gaming, content creation, and social media to keep the brand's content strategy relevant and innovative.

Requirements

Travel Requirements: Be ready and able to travel frequently, with minimal visa restrictions, to cover events, work with local production teams. Ideally, possess a nationality that allows for easy travel with minimal visa requirements.

Industry Passion: Bring a genuine passion for gaming and esports to the role, staying up-to-date with industry trends, popular games, and key community figures.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Social media expertise, and massively creative with a great eye for world class content that grows audiences.

  • Proven experience in a senior creative content or editorial.

  • Ability to pitch ideas and manage client expectations.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing tools.
