Job Description
As Head of Product Design at Gojek, you will lead the design vision across the entire product ecosystem, driving design strategy for millions of users. Key responsibilities include unifying design across diverse products, enhancing scalability through robust design systems, and fostering a creative team culture. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders to ensure design excellence. This role requires defining and executing design strategies aligned with product goals and brand identity, building and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, overseeing brand elements, and championing user research. You will also develop and scale design systems, build a culture of excellence, and track design success metrics.

About The Role
As the Head of Product Design at Gojek, you’ll lead the charge in shaping and evolving the design vision across our entire ecosystem of products. This is a pivotal role where you’ll drive Gojek’s design strategy, ensuring seamless and memorable experiences for millions of users across Southeast Asia. In the first six months, you’ll tackle the challenges of unifying design across diverse products, enhancing scalability through robust design systems, and fostering a team culture of creativity and innovation. Partnering with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders, you’ll ensure that Gojek’s design outcomes not only meet user and business needs but set industry standards for excellence.
What You Will Do
- Design Strategy & Vision: Define and execute design strategies that align with product goals, user needs, and brand identity.
- Team Leadership & Growth: Build, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
- Brand Identity Development: Oversee brand elements—typography, iconography, tone, and more—to deliver a unified and distinctive user experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive and impactful user experiences across touchpoints.
- User-Centric Solutions: Champion user research and insights to inform design decisions, enhancing usability and functionality.
- Product Consistency & Innovation: Develop and scale design systems that ensure consistency while enabling innovation across platforms.
- Cultural Leadership: Build a culture of excellence, empathy, and inclusivity within the design team and the broader organization.
- Impact Measurement: Define and track design success metrics to continuously improve product quality and user satisfaction.
What You Will Need
- Experience: 10+ years in design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within tech, mobility, or consumer-facing products (e.g., ride-hailing, food delivery, fintech, e-commerce).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to scale and lead design teams across multiple product areas and platforms while inspiring cross-functional collaboration.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong track record of delivering impactful design solutions that balance user needs with business objectives at scale.
- Analytical Expertise: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Innovation Focus: Ability to foster a culture of innovation, adaptability, and creativity in a fast-paced environment.
- Fast & Agile: Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth setting with the ability to pivot and deliver under changing circumstances.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences through innovative design and technology.

The Gojek Design Team is a vibrant, diverse collective of around a hundred designers spread across two countries; we are creative thinkers and innovators who are passionate about solving complex problems and creating impactful user experiences.
