About Polygon Labs

Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the AggLayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the AggLayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon Miden, which is in development as well as Polygon CDK.

Your Role

As the Head of Design at Polygon Labs, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the developer experience of our solutions and services. You will lead a talented design team in creating intuitive, engaging, and impactful designs that resonate with a community of developers. Your strategic vision will guide the design process from concept to execution, ensuring that our solutions align with our mission of making blockchain accessible and easy to use. As the leader of the design department, you’ll play a key role in developing and executing design strategies that resonate with the crypto community and developers.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the design team to create exceptional developer experiences across all Polygon Labs solutions and services, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

• Develop and implement a cohesive design strategy that aligns with Polygon Labs' vision and business objectives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure cohesive and innovative design solutions.

• Oversee the design process, from developer research and prototyping to final implementation, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.

• Conduct developer research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions and enhance developer satisfaction.

• Advocate for developer-centered design principles and best practices throughout the organization.

• Mentor and develop design team members.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, tools and technologies, integrating relevant insights into the design process.

• Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders and executives, effectively communicating the vision and rationale behind design choices.

• Manage design resources and budgets, ensuring efficient and effective use of time and materials.

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of experience in design, with a proven track record of 3 years in a leadership role

• A strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise, including experience with web and mobile applications.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

• Deep understanding of user experience principles (especially as applied to the developer community), visual design, and branding within the tech or blockchain sector.

• Ability to think strategically and drive design initiatives that align with business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

• Experience in a tech or blockchain environment
