Job Description

The Head of Digital & Tech China will lead digital and technology-enabled business growth for Haleon in China. They will be responsible for developing and executing the digital and tech strategy, adopting global tech products, managing tech delivery, and driving digital transformation initiatives. The role involves collaborating with various departments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering innovation within the digital and tech team. The incumbent will also oversee team performance and ensure alignment with Haleon's global vision and goals. This position requires a strong understanding of digital and tech trends and their application in a business context, as well as the ability to influence leadership and manage complex projects.
Must have:

Job Purpose: The Digital and Tech Head - China is a pivotal role designed to drive digital and technology-enabled business growth for Haleon in China. The incumbent, an integral member of the Haleon China Leadership Team, will lead the development and execution of the China market's digital and tech strategy, empowering the business to achieve its ambitious goals. This role is accountable for adopting both local and global tech products, tech delivery, digital transformation, and innovation within the China market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Digital and Tech Strategy: Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive digital and tech strategy tailored to the China market. This includes identifying key digital opportunities, setting strategic objectives, and aligning the strategy with Haleon's global vision and goals.
  • Drive Team Performance: Oversee the performance of the digital and tech team, ensuring that team members are motivated, well-trained, and equipped to achieve their objectives. This involves setting clear performance targets, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Adopt Global Tech Products: Ensure the successful adoption and integration of global tech products within the Chinese market. This includes collaborating with global teams to understand product capabilities, customizing solutions to meet local needs, and overseeing the implementation process to ensure seamless integration.
  • Manage Tech Delivery: Oversee the delivery of tech projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This involves managing project timelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and addressing issues or challenges during the project lifecycle.
  • Lead Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, improve customer experiences, and support business growth. This includes identifying areas for digital improvement, implementing new technologies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure the successful integration of digital and tech solutions. This involves facilitating cross-functional collaboration, aligning departmental goals with the digital strategy, and ensuring all teams work towards common objectives.
  • Ensure Compliance: All digital and tech initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards. This includes staying current with industry regulations, implementing best data security and privacy practices, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Foster Innovation: Promote a culture of innovation within the digital and tech team, encouraging team members to explore new ideas, experiment with the latest technologies, and continuously seek ways to improve processes and outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or business
  • 15+ years’ experience in relevant fields.
  • Proven experience in a senior digital and tech leadership role, preferably within the consumer healthcare, CPG, or FMCG industries.
  • Experience in bringing new technologies and as a technology or Business Intelligence lead in multiple markets.
  • Strong understanding of digital and tech trends and their application in a business context.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence leadership & teams at various levels
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. And understand market needs and manage stakeholders and vendors.
  • Experience in Agile, Development Operations Model for product development.
  • Ability to provide recommendations to influence decisions and define tactical solutions.
  • Strong intrapersonal and problem-solving skills with effective communication and the ability to manage complex projects and programs.
  • Ability to escalate and remove barriers to progress in a large matrix organization and with senior stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.

  • Ability to work in multiple markets within a global CPG/FMCG/Consumer Healthcare environment.
