Job Description

Heroku Account Executives at Salesforce drive Heroku business growth and Enterprise customer success. They build strong relationships with key team members and executive decision-makers, helping customers realize value from Heroku investments. Daily tasks include building and maintaining customer relationships, understanding client needs to drive digital transformation with Heroku, developing opportunities through warm leads and whitespace prospecting, focusing on customer success, developing long-term account strategies, performing account planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing quotes and proposals, staying updated on industry trends, and understanding the broader Salesforce product portfolio. The role requires managing the sales cycle from technology champion to C-suite.
Must have:
  • 7+ years quota-carrying software/technology sales & account management
  • Managing sales cycle from technology champion to C-suite
  • Selling complex technologies to IT buyers
  • Consistent track record of exceeding quota
  • Strong relationship building and customer success focus
Good to have:
  • Cloud industry or technical software sales experience
  • Experience with analytics, data, databases, DevOps, application development

Our Heroku Account Executives play a crucial role in driving the growth of the Heroku business and helping our Enterprise customers succeed. They build positive, trusted relationships with both key team members and executive decision-makers within their patch, and become integral in helping customers realize value from their Heroku investments.

Day to Day

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Understand clients' business needs and objectives to effectively drive digital transformation using Heroku solutions.
You will use your skills to develop opportunities, through both warm leads and whitespace prospecting.
Focus on customer success to help drive growth in existing Heroku accounts.
Develop and drive the overall long-term strategy for the account, aligned to customer business objectives
Perform account planning at assigned accounts, coordinating with various sales resources to ensure strategic alignment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and technical support, to meet customer needs.
Prepare and deliver accurate quotes and proposals to customers.
Stay informed about industry trends and competitors in the Heroku space.
Understand the broader Salesforce product portfolio, and how Heroku drives strategic value in the Customer 360

Required Experience

7+ years of quota-carrying software or technology sales and account management experience.
Managing the sales cycle from technology champion to the c-suite (CIO, CISO, CTO)
Experience selling complex technologies to primarily an IT buyer
Consistent track record of over-achieving quota (top 10-20% of company) in past positions.
Education: Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

Preferred Experience

Experience selling in the Cloud industry or technical software sales experience (ex: IaaS or SaaS)
Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, DevOps and/or application development
