Job Description

As an HR Business Partner at Zinnia, you will be a strategic advisor and partner to business leaders and employees. You will drive people strategies, foster an inclusive and high-performance culture, and align HR initiatives with business goals. Responsibilities include strategic HR partnership, talent and performance management, employee engagement and culture, employee relations and compliance, change management, and operational excellence. This role involves providing data-driven insights, managing performance reviews, building a diverse culture, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The role requires influencing decision-making and resolving complex employee relations issues.
Must have:
  • 7+ years in HRBP or equivalent roles
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset
  • Experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Ability to influence and build relationships
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills
  • Understanding of employment law and HR compliance
Good to have:
  • Background in organizational development or people analytics
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)

WHO YOU ARE:

As an HR Business Partner at Zinnia, you will be a strategic advisor and partner to business leaders and employees. You’ll play a key role in driving people strategies, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and aligning HR initiatives with our business goals. You’ll be embedded with teams across departments, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term workforce planning. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders to design and execute organizational strategies that support business goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights and solutions on org design, workforce planning, succession, and engagement.
  • Influence decision-making through a deep understanding of the business and HR best practices.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Lead performance management initiatives including reviews, feedback loops, and development plans.
  • Support leaders in talent reviews, promotions, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate on career pathing, competency frameworks, and employee growth programs.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Help build and sustain a diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Drive engagement surveys and action planning to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees. 

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and HR policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies across multiple states or geographies.
  • Manage sensitive investigations with integrity, discretion, and fairness.

Change Management

  • Support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, M&A integrations, and new operating models.
  • Communicate change effectively across stakeholders, balancing empathy with business needs.

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with other People groups on compensation, benefits, L&D. 
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in HR processes and documentation.
  • Use tools (e.g., HRIS, enrollment  ) to ensure data integrity and reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:  

  • 7+ years in HRBP or equivalent HR roles in high-growth or tech environments.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Proven experience managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of employment law and HR compliance.

Preferred

  • Background in organizational development or people analytics.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR).
