Job Description
This role is a systems administrator that will join the global Operations team as part of the larger IT organization. The Systems Administrator is a contributor in day-to-day operations and improvement initiatives, providing in-depth technology expertise in support of Husky’s transformation and business strategy.
This position is primarily responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of various applications and operational software systems. Other responsibilities include operational monitoring and continuous improvements to ensure the performance, availability, and security of the systems environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with the larger team to coordinate upgrades of systems with new releases
- Configure, maintain and tune database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure optimal levels of service and security
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of IT systems and contribute to the design of those systems whenever possible
- Work closely with product managers and present ideas to improve the future capabilities/functionality of operational systems
- Apply and integrate automation processes where possible, using various scripting and coding technologies
- Perform analytical steps troubleshooting key systems involving database and system log files to identify, clarify and verify reported issues
- Implement monitoring and performance tuning for business-critical systems
- Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
- Develop expertise and act as a subject matter expert on business-critical systems including ERP, CRM and PLM
- Create and maintain documentation of new and existing systems
- Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders including Architecture, Security, Development, Test, and Support teams
- Perform day-to-day administration of systems environments
- Act as Tier 3 technical support for relevant escalations from the service desk team
- Provide on-call support required for critical issues
- Sound knowledge of operating systems, databases (Oracle/MS SQL)
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server administration, including installation & upgrade, backup & recovery, monitoring & tuning, and security.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server
- Experience with Linux Servers
- Experience with AX, Biztalk, SharePoint, CRM
- Teamcenter experience as an architect, consultant, support engineer, developer, or system administrator
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFSR, Group Policy.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS and Office 365.
