Job Description

This is a job for an Industrial Engineering Intern at HP. The intern will be involved in line balancing based on takt times, creating/updating engineering documentations (method sheets, flow charts, Lay out, etc), identifying opportunities to improve labor, materials and overhead, line layout design, work instruction design. The intern will also be able to perform all IE functions & assist with training of seasonal employees, be involved in review of daily process records for learning purposes, and maintain specific job assignments throughout entire shift. The internship is a 1-year paid program designed to allow the intern to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges, network, and be involved in projects.
Must have:
  • Line Balancing based on takt times

Responsibilities:  

  • Line Balancing based on takt times.
  • Create/update engineering documentations ( method sheets, flow charts, Lay out, etc).
  • Identify opportunities to improve labor , materials and overhead.
  • Line Lay out Design.
  • Work instruction design.
  • Be able to perform all IE functions & assist with training of seasonal employees.
  • Involvement in review of daily process records for learning purposes.
  • Ability to work at a proficient pace, be self-directed and maintain specific job assignments throughout entire shift.

Education and Experience Required (Objective Minimum Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year college and graduating with a bachelor degree between June 2026.
  • Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills (Preferred Qualifications): 

  • Basic understanding of accounting processes.
  • Basic analytical skills.
  • Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
