Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance functions, focusing on injection molding machines, automation, and assembly equipment. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, ordering repair parts, using maintenance software, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The technician will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, and work with low and high voltage electricity safely. The role requires working with the operations team to troubleshoot issues and keep equipment running. The technician will also assist in building test fixtures and assembly equipment. This is a full-time position on the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday), with the possibility of overtime.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, mechanics, and schematic readings
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to operate Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
  • Ability to work with low-voltage and high-voltage electricity safely
Good to have:
  • Welding and HVAC experience

Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift, New Brighton, MN (Temp to Hire)

We have an opportunity for a Temporary Maintenance Technician on our 2nd Shift at our New Brighton, MN facility. You will perform maintenance functions in all areas with a primary focus on one of the following: Injection molding machines, automation, and assembly of test fixtures as well as assembly equipment.  You will also work with operations team members to troubleshoot issues and keep equipment running.

You will:

  • Perform maintenance functions in all areas with a primary focus on one of the following: Injection molding machines, automation and assembly [assist in building of test fixtures as well as assembly equipment (packaging, air tools, etc.)]
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Must order all repair parts and stock as needed.
  • Ability to work with maintenance software.
  • Understands and promotes safety in the shop. Continuously practice safe work habits to keep accidents from happening. Must be aware of safety requirements to safely work alone, as well as in conjunction with other maintenance staff.  (Lock out/Tag out procedures, etc.)
  • Must be able to work with vibrating tools such as impact wrenches and tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in equipment and correct repairs promptly.
  • Must be able to work with low-voltage and high-voltage electricity safely.

Key Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance or equivalent technical degree/certification. 
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, mechanics, and schematic readings.
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to operate Microsoft Office products. 
  • Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting and lowering weights up to 50 pounds. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor. 
  • Welding and HVAC experience preferred.

Position hours/shift:

  • 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $27.00 to $29.00/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.

Temporary Benefits:

  • This position qualifies for safe and sick time after 90 days.
