The Interior Designer is responsible for providing design development, contract documentation, and coordination of fitting out works for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Interior fit out projects. This role involves leadership of medium-scale projects and working directly with the Creative team to set interior design direction. The Interior Designer will develop varied Interior Design project work at all stages, from concept, feasibility, and schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation and specifications of color and materials. They will also work with interior design consultants to ensure the project design intent and implementation strategies are completed with established quality standards, schedule, and budget. Other responsibilities include organizing and developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects of medium complexity and size, ensuring the interior design intent is achieved by successfully integrating design with allied disciplines, and interfacing with Operations, Merchandise, Hotel Operations, and F&B teams for inclusion of their requirements into the design. The Interior Designer will be responsible for the design and production drawings of hotel rooms, public areas, merchandise shops, restaurants, or attractions under the creative direction of the Creative Director. They will also answer construction bid period questions, review submittals, and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.
Must have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Minimum 6 years of professional interior design experience
  • Prior experience working with/at Disney
  • Experience with themed interior design/attraction
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office products
  • Strong conceptualization and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality work under dynamic work environments

Job Summary:

The role of Interior Designer is to provide strong, significant, fully competent interior design and production support for Hong Kong Disneyland Resorts Interior fit out projects.  The Interior Designer provides design development, contract documentation and coordination of fitting out works as required.  This role include leadership of medium-scale projects as experience and abilities allow.

Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with Creative team to set interior design direction.
  • Provide support to the project team for interior design and implementation of assigned projects
  • Develop varied Interior Design project work at all stages of from concept, feasibility, schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation, specifications of colour and materials in accordance with the WDI standards
  • Work with interior design consultants to ensure the project design intent and implementation strategies are completed with established quality standards, schedule and budget
  • Organize and develop scope of work, budget and schedule for projects of medium complexity and size
  • Ensure the interior design intent is achieved by successfully integrating design with allied disciplines, such as architecture, lighting, graphics, structural engineering, showset, and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP)
  • Interface with Operations, Merchandise, Hotel Operations and F&B teams for inclusion of their requirements into the design
  • Responsible for the design and production drawings of hotel rooms, public areas, merchandise shop, restaurants or attraction under the creative direction of the Creative Director
  • Answer construction bid period questions, review submittals and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Interior design or Architecture, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 6 years of professional interior design experience, preferrable with prior experience working with/at Disney
  • Demonstrated thoughtful design, artistic skills and professional judgment in problem solving
  • Previous experience with themed interior design/attraction required
  • Good knowledge and direct use of computer systems and software used by WDI for interior design and business communication: AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, basic scanning and printing software, Microsoft Office products other 3-D rendering software.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to conceptualize themed interior design and communicate design ideas
  • Independent problem-solver with strong collaboration and interpretation skills with dedication to deliver high quality work under dynamic work environment
