Job Description

As an Intermediate Java Developer at SS&C, you will be involved in designing, developing, and optimizing financial risk computation and regulatory reporting solutions using Java. You will write clean, efficient code to handle large-scale data processing and customizable reporting requirements. You will also troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and resource bottlenecks. You will collaborate with regulation experts, financial engineers, product teams, implementation engineers, and clients to translate requirements into technical solutions, while solving complex challenges of distributed, multi-threaded and real-time processing system architecture. SS&C offers a hybrid working model and is committed to diversity and inclusion.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of backend Java development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, data structures/algorithms, and object-oriented design.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a distributed framework.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, mathematical, and communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with databases, SpringBoot, containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with financial risk is preferred.
  • Experience with modern build systems is a plus.

SS&C Algorithmics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (full stack Java developer) with an interest in financial risk management to join the Algo Workspace Analyzer product development team in Toronto, Canada. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a team developing Algorithmics’ next generation risk aggregation solutions. This role will work with financial risk solution and technology experts to build and continuously innovate a suite of next generation risk solutions used globally by banks, asset managers, and insurance companies.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Design, develop, and optimize financial risk computation and regulatory reporting solutions written in Java.
  • Write clean, efficient code to handle large-scale data processing and customizable reporting requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and resource bottlenecks.
  • Partner with regulation experts, financial engineers, product teams, implementation engineers, and clients to translate regulatory requirements and client specific needs into efficient technical solutions.
  • Solve complex challenges of distributed, multi-threaded and real-time processing system architecture.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3–5 years of backend Java development experience, with proficiency in Java, data structures/algorithms, and object-oriented design.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and implement efficient solutions in a distributed framework
  • Curiosity and adaptability to learn financial regulations, quantitative logic, and business workflows. Experience in financial risk is preferred but not mandatory
  • Solid analytical, problem solving, mathematical and communication skills
  • Experience with databases, SpringBoot, containers and kubernetes, and modern build systems a plus.
