Job Description

As a Digital Design Intern at Nintendo of America, you will be part of the Creative Production team, contributing to design projects for online marketing channels, including websites, email, and social media. Your responsibilities will include creating visual assets for advertising, retail, and web marketing, assisting in developing templates and components for the Design System Library, and collaborating on various design tasks. You will gain hands-on experience working with a leading entertainment company and have the opportunity to network with industry leaders.
Must have:
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
  • Pursuing a degree in design-related fields
  • Ability to work with diverse teams
  • Comfortable with fast-paced environments
  • Passion for visual design, interaction design, and branding
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
  • Portfolio of design work
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Availability to work 40 hours a week onsite
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of responsive web design principles
  • Experience with design systems and component design
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and product development
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry and Nintendo brand

INTERN – Digital Design

Application Deadline: December 1, 2024

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Work with Nintendo’s Creative Production team to create designs for different online marketing channels including Nintendo’s websites, email, and social media

  • Create visual assets for use in advertising, retail, and web marketing

  • Assist in creating templates and components for our Design System Library

  • Contribute and collaborate on other initiatives and design tasks

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3.0+ GPA

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a graduation conferral date between May 2025 and June 2026

  • Pursuing a degree in Communication/Interaction/Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UI/UX, Digital Media or related field

  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals across the organization

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, ambiguous environment

  • Passion for visual design, interaction design, and branding

  • Familiar with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and/or similar tools

  • Knowledge with responsive web design principles, design systems, and component design a plus

  • Knowledge with HTML/CSS and product development a plus

  • Familiar with the gaming industry and Nintendo brand a plus

  • Provide a portfolio of your work

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Able to work 40 hours a week onsite throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship between June – September

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. Housing and travel support will be provided for non-local hires.

This internship includes a base pay range of $25 per hour, paid sick and safe time, and perks such as a local transit pass and access to the onsite fitness center. Given the limited duration of the role, interns are not eligible for full-time employee benefits such as healthcare or 401(k).
