Job Description

As an IT Software Engineer Intern at Nintendo of America, you will actively contribute to meaningful projects and gain valuable hands-on work experience with a leading company in the entertainment industry. You will work with Nintendo's IT team to develop, design, and implement internal/external web-based application features in a DevOps environment. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to end-to-end software projects and collaborate with other IT team members. You will also present your work to client stakeholders and design technical solutions that support operational requirements and strategic initiatives.
Must have:
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Typescript)
  • Exposure to React, React Native, JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS
  • Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms
  • Familiarity with AWS, databases (RDS + DocumentDB), source control tools (Github) and collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira)
  • Experience with software development skills and understanding of modern web technologies
  • Able to articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
Good to have:
  • Familiarity of different software development life cycle paradigms
  • Able to work 40 hours a week onsite throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship

INTERN – IT Software Engineer

Application Deadline: December 1, 2024

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Work with Nintendo’s IT team to develop, design and implement internal/external web-based application features

  • Work with the team in a DevOps environment while gaining exposure to end-to-end software project

  • Provide strong collaboration and communication skills to interface with other IT team members and presentation of work to client stakeholders

  • Design technical solution while supporting the operational requirements and strategic initiatives

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3.0+ GPA

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with a graduation conferral date between May 2025 and June 2026

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

  • Knowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Typescript)

  • Exposure to and familiarity with React, React Native

  • Exposure to and familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS

  • Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms

  • Familiarity with AWS (or similar cloud computing technologies), databases (RDS + DocumentDB), source control tools (Github) and

  • collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira)

  • Familiarity of different software development life cycle paradigms a plus

  • Experience with software development skills and understanding of modern web technologies

  • Able to articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Able to work 40 hours a week onsite throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship between June – September

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. Housing and travel support will be provided for non-local hires.

This internship includes a base pay range of $30 per hour, paid sick and safe time, and perks such as a local transit pass and access to the onsite fitness center. Given the limited duration of the role, interns are not eligible for full-time employee benefits such as healthcare or 401(k).
