Job Description

As a Public Relations Intern at Nintendo of America, you'll contribute to meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience. You'll work with the PR team on news beats, industry events, and integrated marketing campaigns. Your responsibilities will include creating press materials, brainstorming campaign tactics, shadowing event logistics, and conducting research on the gaming media landscape. You'll also collaborate with other teams and agency partners to gain experience in integrated marketing. The internship is a 10-week program running from June to September, with a base pay of $30 per hour.
Must have:
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program
  • Graduation conferral date between May 2025 and June 2026
  • Degree in Public Relations or Communications
  • Familiarity with Project Management methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to work 40 hours a week onsite
Good to have:
  • Emphasis or minor in Marketing, Project Management, Business Administration
  • Familiarity with social media and influencer marketing
  • Understanding of OneDrive & SharePoint
  • Understanding of Nintendo's products

INTERN – Public Relations

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Work with Nintendo’s Public Relations team, which focuses on generating positive coverage around the Nintendo brand and its products, on highly visible news beats, industry events and integrated marketing campaigns for games

  • Contribute to the creation of select press materials, supporting the team in brainstorming and providing creative input on campaign tactics, and shadowing or supporting event logistics

  • Research projects such as how the gaming media landscape has evolved over the years, providing key insights and a fresh perspective on key trends and changes that can be applied to Nintendo public relations strategies

  • Collaborate with the broader Communications team and agency partners to gain experience integrating PR with influencer, celebrity, and social media marketing around Nintendo products

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3.0+ GPA

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with a graduation conferral date between May 2025 and June 2026

  • Pursuing a degree in Public Relations or Communications

  • Optional emphasis or minor in Marketing, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field

  • Familiar with Project Management methodologies

  • Familiarity with social media and influencer marketing preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of OneDrive & SharePoint a plus

  • Understanding of Nintendo’s products a plus

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Able to work 40 hours a week onsite throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship between June – September

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. Housing and travel support will be provided for non-local hires.

This internship includes a base pay range of $30 per hour, paid sick and safe time, and perks such as a local transit pass and access to the onsite fitness center. Given the limited duration of the role, interns are not eligible for full-time employee benefits such as healthcare or 401(k).
