Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies, banking, mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. At the core of our business is the development of software which we configure and embed in a multitude of different devices and form factors. These include many kinds of payment cards, SIM cards, travel passes, secure eBanking devices, authentication tokens, machine identification modules (MIM), and secure ID documents including ePassports, eID and eHealth cards, as well as eDriving licenses. Because of the international environment surrounding us every day, it comes as no surprise that English is our official corporate language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in writing and maintaining software, scripts, and automation tools to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with team members to test new features and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Support the improvement and maintenance of Open Source Software tools used by the team.
- Participate in troubleshooting and fixing bugs in the product as they arise.
- Help document software functionalities and project workflows for better team understanding.
- Engage with the team in various tasks as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
- Perform weekly reporting on the development/project progress to the Scrum Master / Technical Leader.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Git / GitLab.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, with an eagerness to learn and contribute.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with software development concepts.
- Exposure to testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Interest in open-source software development.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages.
