Job Details

At Mercury, we believe great communication isn’t just about sharing information—it’s about creating clarity, connection, and excitement. As we grow, keeping our team aligned and engaged is more important than ever, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to help shape how we share important updates, celebrate wins, and keep employees connected to Mercury’s mission. In this role, you’ll bring structure and creativity to our communication channels, ensuring employees have the right information, at the right time, in a way that’s clear, engaging, and fun. You’ll work closely with teams across the company, bringing stories to life and making internal communication feel seamless and impactful.

Reporting to the Employee Communications Lead, you’ll play a key role in executing Mercury’s internal communication strategy. Your work will help foster alignment, transparency, and excitement as we scale—so if you love storytelling, thrive in fast-paced environments, and get a thrill from making complex information simple, this role is for you.

*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.

  • Curate and manage our employee newsletters, gathering and organizing company updates in a way that’s informative, engaging, and fun.
  • Support and optimize our company intranet (Notion), keeping it organized, up-to-date, and easy to navigate for all employees.
  • Enhance company-wide communication processes across Slack, Notion, and Google Suite to reduce noise, improve clarity, and ensure scalability as we grow.
  • Help create and maintain an internal communications playbook, establishing best practices, guidelines, and processes to improve clarity, consistency, and alignment across the company.
  • Bring a strategic mindset to internal communications—you’re not just a writer but a thought partner who isn’t afraid to share ideas and challenge processes to make them better.
  • Own projects end to end—you're not just executing tasks, but bringing structure, clarity, and organization to various communication initiatives.
  • Support internal communication projects—staying organized, adaptable, and having fun along the way.

You should:

  • Have proven experience with utilizing Slack for internal communications initiatives.
  • Have proven experience managing a company Intranet, experience with Notion is preferred.
  • Be a strong writer and storyteller – you can make even the most complex topics engaging and easy to understand.
  • Be detail-oriented and highly organized, with a knack for structuring information clearly.
