The IT Automation Engineer will manage SaaS applications, adopting best practices in a cloud-first strategy and distributed workforce. Key responsibilities include automating IT operations (system provisioning, configuration management, monitoring), automating key processes like employee onboarding/offboarding, and developing/managing documentation for all Employee Technology projects. This role requires at least 2 years' experience in automation engineering, managing Microsoft 365/Entra ID environments, and familiarity with MDM tools (Intune, Jamf) and collaboration platforms. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and design/implement new processes.
Must have:
  • 2+ years' experience as Automation Engineer
  • Microsoft 365/Entra ID environment management
  • PowerShell and other scripting skills
  • MDM tool (Intune, Jamf) experience
  • Collaboration platform knowledge (Google Drive, Slack, Zoom)
  • Security best practices and data protection knowledge
Good to have:
  • Microsoft Intune/Jamf deployment experience
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
  • Microsoft Entra Conditional Access implementation
  • Endpoint protection and Microsoft security offerings experience
  • Automation solutions/Google App Script experience
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Google Cloud Certified - Associate, Google Workspace Administrator Certificate, Microsoft Azure Security Technologies (AZ-500), ITIL Foundation certifications

Job Title: IT Automation Engineer (Remote within Ireland)

 

What you can expect to do:

  • Manage SaaS applications and adopt best practice in a cloud-first strategy and distributed workforce.
  • Automate IT Operations: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline IT operations, including system provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
  • Automate key processes such as employee onboarding and offboarding to enhance efficiency and improve the overall employee experience.
  • Develop, manage, and update documentation of all Employee Technology projects.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role, managing and supporting the Microsoft 365/Entra ID environments.
  • Knowledge of Mobile Device Management tools (Intune, Jamf) and collaboration platforms (Google Drive, Slack, Zoom)
  • Experience with PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and data protection across all cloud services.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and deliver value-added solutions in an agile manner.
  • Ability to manage several inter-related and potentially competing priorities in parallel.
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.

 

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Experience deploying solutions and security policies with Microsoft Intune and/or Jamf.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID Administration
  • Implement and administer Entra ID services, including Resource Groups, Automation Accounts, Key Vault, Network Security Groups, and Azure Virtual Desktops.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft Entra Conditional Access
  • Experience managing endpoint protection platforms and Microsoft security offerings.
  • Experience with automation solutions and/or Google App Script would be a plus!

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
  • Google Cloud Certified - Associate
  • Google Workspace Administrator Certificate
  • Microsoft Azure Security Technologies (AZ-500)
