Job Description

Apexon seeks a Java/Batch Job Scheduler responsible for running and supporting batch operations in a large production environment. Responsibilities include utilizing DevOps, automation tools, and ITIL/Agile methodologies. Strong knowledge of batch schedulers (Zena and CA a plus), Windows/Linux administration, shell scripting, databases, and SQL is required. The role demands excellent communication and problem-solving skills, troubleshooting abilities, and flexibility to work rotating shifts (8 AM-5 PM and 4 PM-12 AM). The candidate will collaborate with teams, prepare root cause analyses, and document changes. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
Must have:

Role Description: Java/Batch Job Scheduler

 

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):

Location:             Remote (Concord, NH)
Special Note: “Must be flexible to work rotating shifts”
 
We have 2 shifts, 8 AM to 5PM and 4 PM to 12 AM. Every month or 2 weeks, between 2 people they rotate the shifts.
Vacation coverage:          This can equate to 4 weeks, sometimes.
 
On-call for priority scenarios from time to time
 
Required Skills:
• 4 + years in running & supporting Batch operations in a large environment supporting Production Operations.
• Good working experience in DevOps, Automation tools, ITIL processes and Agile & Scrum methodologies
• Good understanding Batch schedulers, Windows & Linux Administration (Knowledge of Zena and CA batch scheduling tools a plus)
• Good Knowledge in Shell Scripting, Database and SQL Programming
• Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written communication, and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with diverse personalities and technical skills at all levels
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve network, application, and systems issues expediently.
• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts and Ability to learn quickly and adapt
• Regularly communicates with lead and functional teams
• Prepare root cause analysis based on troubleshooting and Document application corrections or configuration changes

 

You’ll have (Qualification & Experience):

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
