JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is  looking for an experienced JIRA Administrator to join our team and take ownership of configuring, maintaining, and optimizing our Atlassian Jira environment — including Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery. This role is critical to ensuring that our teams work efficiently, with well-structured workflows, automated processes, and clear visibility across projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, understand their needs, and tailor Jira solutions that support business goals and improve operational performance. This is a fast-paced job with room for significant career growth. 


Please note: you must have at least 3+ years of experience as Jira Administrator to be considered for this role.

 


JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Administer and configure Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Jira Product Discovery instances.

  • Design and maintain custom workflows, issue types, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.

  • Develop and manage automations, filters, dashboards, and reports to support business needs.

  • Support user onboarding/offboarding and permissions management across Jira projects.

  • Collaborate with teams (e.g., IT, Product, Engineering, Operations) to understand requirements and implement best practices.

  • Troubleshoot Jira-related issues and provide user support and training when necessary.

  • Maintain and document system configurations, changes, and processes.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal governance standards.

  • Stay up to date with Atlassian platform updates and recommend relevant improvements or new features.


EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Jira Administrator, preferably in a mid- to large-scale environment  with hands-on development skills.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery.

  • Solid understanding of Jira core concepts including workflows, custom fields, user roles, permissions, and project configurations.

  • Experience implementing Jira automation rules and managing project templates.

  • Ability to translate business needs into Jira configurations and process improvements.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps (e.g., Script Runner, Insight/Assets, Advanced Roadmaps) is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of ITSM and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Initiative and drive to do great things.
