Job Description
Egnyte seeks a Jr. Software Engineer to build and maintain Node.js web services (30+ services, high traffic) and contribute to lightweight frontend layers (React, Vue.js). Responsibilities include collaboration with UX designers, PMs, and QA, working on REST APIs, NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and debugging multi-threaded applications. The role requires strong ownership and excellent communication skills. Experience with JavaScript (ES8+), Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and Python is essential.
Must have:
- 1-3 years experience

Our Ecosystem Team specializes in building lightweight Node.js apps, SDKs and adoption tools, allowing for 3rd party integrations with Egnyte, and also leading development with most crucial partners like Google or Microsoft. Team owns separate infrastructure (Kubernetes in Google Cloud) and has full independence in terms of choosing technologies and tools to use.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Build and maintain Node.js web services in Production scale. We have over 30 Node.js services already, including high traffic.
- Involvement in developing lightweight frontend layers (React, Vue.js and similar technologies) as needed
- Collaboration with UX designers, PM, QA and other stakeholders as needed
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of industry experience
- Good knowledge in JavaScript (ES8+), Nodejs, HTML5, CSS3, Python
- Hands on experience in: React + Redux or similar frontend framework
- Experience in REST API's
- Basic understanding of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB
- Experience in debugging multi-threaded applications
- Strong sense of ownership of a product: we’re not only producers of the code, this is actually our product.
- Communicative English skills
