Job Description

In this Junior Data Science Analyst position, you will work in the Data and Monitoring team, analyzing geospatial and alphanumeric data across various fronts, from data organization and visualization to the development of models and methodologies that support strategic decision-making. The focus of the position is to support the collection, production, analysis, and management of environmental and social data related to Forests, Land Use, and Productive Chains.
Must Have:
  • Degree in Forest Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Ecology, Data Science, Geoprocessing, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Practical knowledge in geospatial data analysis tools (GIS) and remote sensing.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Basic knowledge in SQL for database queries and manipulation.
  • Ability to read and write technical English.

Vacancy Highlight:

In this position, you will work in the Data and Monitoring team, with geospatial and alphanumeric data analysis on various fronts, from data organization and visualization to the development of models and methodologies that support strategic decision-making. The position focuses on supporting the collection, production, analysis, and management of environmental and social data related to Forests, Land Use, and Productive Chains.

What you will do:

Data Analysis and Processing

  • Collect, organize, process, and analyze alphanumeric and geospatial data, including remote sensing data.
  • Perform data cleaning and treatment, ensuring quality, consistency, and standardization.
  • Apply basic statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.

Support in Model and Methodology Development

  • Support the conception and implementation of geospatial analysis methodologies and models applied to socioeconomic and environmental data.
  • Collaborate on the integration of different data sources and analytical tools.

Data Visualization and Communication

  • Create visualizations and dashboards that facilitate the interpretation and communication of results.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and communication materials.

Collaboration and Continuous Learning

  • Work in a team with professionals from different areas and external partners.
  • Stay updated on new tools, practices, and trends in data analysis and geotechnologies.
  • Participate in technical discussions and propose innovative solutions, promoting continuous improvement of processes, data products, and support for forest and landscape restoration initiatives.

What you will need:
