Job Description

The K-12 District Engagement Advocate at Canva is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with K-12 schools and districts across North America, specifically focusing on the Canadian market. This role involves managing the entire school district/school board lifecycle, from strategy and prospecting to onboarding and results tracking. Key responsibilities include fostering relationships with key stakeholders, serving as a Canva for Education ambassador, providing technical support and guidance, understanding the Canva user lifecycle, identifying trends, driving retention and engagement, and utilizing data analysis to inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the Canadian K-12 education market, customer success, technology implementation in schools, and effective communication. Fluency in written and spoken French is required.

Where and how you can work

Our headquarters is in sunny Sydney, Australia, but our team spans the globe. Since we don’t have a physical campus in Canada this role is fully remote—giving you the flexibility to do your best work from wherever you thrive.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Owning the school district/school board lifecycle. You'll own strategy, prospecting, planning, onboarding, execution, and results within identified districts and boards.
  • Fostering relationships with district/board administration. You'll be responsible for managing the relationships with the key stakeholders and decision-makers at districts and boards and getting them what they need, be it technical documentation and support, onboarding help, teacher development resources, Canva tips and tricks, and strategic guidance
  • Serving as an ambassador of Canva for Education with teachers and educators at managed districts and boards.
  • Providing value to customers and to Canva. You'll run a healthy and predictable business that delivers a jointly agreed customer transformation strategy focused on educational outcomes within districts and boards.
  • Understanding the Canva user lifecycle. You'll establish close relationships with our passionate community of educators and learners to know first-hand what they need to become successful Canva users.
  • Identifying trends and usage patterns. You'll utilize data analysis to shape your strategic approach to sales and account management, and to note emerging trends to share with Canva’s Sales & Success, Product, and Marketing teams.
  • Driving retention and engagement. You'll continuously test, learn, and iterate on our lifecycle strategy at our identified districts and boards to build meaningful and impactful relationships.

You're probably a match if you have;

  • Experience with the Canadian K-12 Education Market. You understand classroom efficiency solutions and are able to communicate with instructional technology specialists and teachers on how Canva can improve student learning outcomes through design and collaboration.
  • Customer Success Expertise. You are comfortable driving retention and fostering engagement with software solutions at a district level.
  • Excellent Collaboration skills. You enjoy working alongside your direct team as well as with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Implementing new Technologies. You have a deep understanding of how schools roll out new technologies and how district-wide deployments are most effective.
  • Effective Communication skills. You create clarity through your communication by making complex things simple. You can confidently present your ideas and tell a compelling story to customers and the broader team.
  • Strong Business Planning Skills. You have the ability to move from planning all the way through to implementation and complete projects that deliver high impact.
  • Experience in Community Management. You understand social media standard processes and tactics for educating audiences.
  • Growth Mindset. You're eager to learn and develop your skills whilst having fun along the way!
  • Fluent in written and spoken French. You are comfortable interacting in a business context in Canadian French, in order to support the portion of your book of business that prefers to communicate in this language.

About the team

A K-12 District Engagement Advocate at Canva is a key member of our team who is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with K-12 schools and districts across North America. They are passionate about education and have a deep understanding of the needs of K-12 educators.

Our District Engagement Advocates work closely with school board and district leaders to help them understand the benefits of using Canva's educational tools and resources. They provide guidance and support to educators as they integrate Canva into their curriculums and lesson plans, and they offer ongoing training to ensure that educators are getting the most out of our platform.

Above all, our District Engagement Advocates are committed to making a difference in the lives of K-12 students and how they learn the future-focused skills they will need to thrive in the 21st century. They are dedicated to helping educators create engaging and dynamic learning experiences that inspire and motivate students to succeed.
