As a Freelance Language Auditor (Indonesian), you will evaluate the quality and accuracy of Indonesian translations for marketing and digital content, ensuring adherence to local linguistic standards, brand tone, and cultural context. You will provide feedback and scoring based on language quality frameworks, collaborate with localization and quality assurance teams, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of language guidelines and terminology best practices. This role involves identifying linguistic, stylistic, and cultural inconsistencies to maintain brand consistency and local relevance.
Must have:
  • 5+ years experience in Language/Linguist auditing
  • Proficiency in Indonesian and English
  • Strong understanding of local language nuances
  • Experience in language quality assessment
  • Familiarity with Indonesian language standards
  • Experience reviewing marketing content
  • Proven track record in language testing
  • Knowledge of international quality standards
  • Certified in Bahasa Indonesia or translation
Good to have:
  • Certification from CIOL or ATA
  • Familiarity with technology terminology

What does a Language Auditor (Freelance, Bahasa Indonesia)  do at Hogarth?

We’re looking for a Freelance Language Assessor (Indonesian) to support language quality evaluation for marketing materials across digital platforms on a freelance basis. 

In this role, you'll assess and ensure the quality, tone, and accuracy of Indonesian content translated from English, with a strong focus on marketing campaigns, social media, and promotional materials. Your feedback will play a crucial role in maintaining brand consistency and local relevance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the quality and accuracy of Indonesian translations for marketing and digital content

  • Ensure adherence to local linguistic standards, brand tone, and cultural context

  • Provide feedback and scoring based on language quality frameworks

  • Collaborate with localisation and quality assurance teams to enhance language output

  • Identify linguistic, stylistic, and cultural inconsistencies

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of language guidelines and terminology best practices


Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years experience in Language/Linguist auditing role. Proficiency in Indonesian and English

  • Strong understanding of local language nuances and cultural context

  • Experience in language quality assessment, translation, or editing

  • Familiarity with Indonesian language standards and regulations

  • Experience reviewing marketing, advertising, or social media content

  • Proven track record in language testing or assessment

  • Knowledge of international language quality standards (e.g., ISO 17100)

  • Certified in one or more of the following:

    • Sertifikasi Bahasa Indonesia from Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa

    • Translation Certification from Indonesian Translators Association (HPI)


Nice to Have (but not mandatory):

  • Certification from international bodies such as:

    • CIOL – Chartered Institute of Linguists

    • ATA – American Translators Association

    • ISO 17100 for translation services

  • Familiarity with technology-related terminology and content
